Break Week Did ZKK not happen due to Oda hating him?

All it would've done is less damage than Asura anyways 😭
It was enough to give Kaido PTSD tho
- Zoro should've redeemed Oden by completing the final blow Oden was going to deliver before he failed to subterfuge. Zoro being a pirate should've made that difference where he wouldn't budge on the kill shot.

Oh well. Yamato supposedly redeemed Oden by just existing during the fight. I mean, she didn't. We all hate Oden because he was never really redeemed. If Zoro completed what Oden intended to do, then Oden would've been in better standing. He would've been championing the samurai and piracy at the same time. Since Zoro was pretty anti-climactic with that, so were the samurai.

Oda let a pre-power up Zoro scar Kaido, a high top-tier and World's Strongest Creature, after overwhelming him in a head-on clash, with 30 broken bones, after saving the rooftop 5 from an island level combination attack from 2 Yonko, whilst Trafalgar Law looked on as a cheerleader, after Luffy the captain was just KOed by the same Kaido whilst failing to inflict any noteworthy damage... and y'all are asking does Oda hate Zoro ☠️

Oda's reaction to this thread:
We are getting season 2 of zoro piece soon in additional to cg action this year :finally:

If that happened, there would probably have to be a Luffy Vs. Zoro moment where he questions his leadership, and if it happened at the top levels with Emperors, Zoro would be in the right to say it, but it would cause a problem with the crew. Sanji might even tell Zoro to back off, but Zoro would reiterate that Luffy can't be doing that at this stage.

Interesting developments could have happened, but whatever.
This is pigeonholing the idea a bit. Zoro helping out isn't undermining in itself: he finished Morgan and had the final fight of Thriller Bark, to name just the ones some of us found relevant during Wano. He flat out protected Luffy against Kaido in the first portion of that fight as well... Luffy's never minded that and Zoro sees it as his duty.

What are you even saying
Did Ling the background defeat Crydo?
I'm saying that Zoro killing Kaido after Luffy defeats him wouldn't have taken away the win from Luffy.
Imagine after Bajarang gun, both Luffy and Kaido are on the ground of the capital exhausted but then Kaido (with white eyes) tries to boro breath the city and Zoro kills him.
This was the scenario that happened with Don Krieg and Gin.

If ZKK happened he wouldn't be able to sell rubber.
If anyone thought ZKK was honestly going to happen, they're a fucking moron.
Funny how both of these things are true.

Oda's reaction to this thread:

As the great Ndule used to say. Roofpiece is filler fanservice.

If he went through with ZKK, Luffy would sit on the bench and stop being the MC.
The popularity poll has shown Oda that Zoro was about to overtake Luffy and he had to abort the mission.
Or rather he still went through with it but chose a version that keeps Zoro's fame to a minimum.

Oda once explained the reason Luffy doesn't kill his enemies. What they represent is a dream, so killing their ambition is the same thing as death.

I think the question then becomes whether someone is hell-bent on their dream and will pursue it even if they're defeated and if they have the means to do it. Kaido existing any further may have implied he was something like a natural disaster that needed to be stopped. Without any dialogue, though, it's just Luffy killing a dude lol
Fair enough, but it doesn't happen like that... πŸ˜‚

Even Helmeppo himself became much better after his defeat (and Morgan apparently recognized him).

Well, when someone's dream is killed, they get a new dream. Helmeppo shifted his goals, so that constitutes a new dream.

Morgan remained pretty much the same, but his goals couldn't be met anymore for that particular dream that he had previously.

Also, the dragon that Ryuma slain was about the same kind that Zoro did at Punk Hazard. Both large, mindless beasts, in the "Western Dragon" style.
I don't believe that Oda himself would really have expected these compromises to work for readers. Like throwing a bone by having King make a dragon, lol. It's a case of not doing something but finding a way to say you did.

I think it was an unfounded fear, but a fear nonetheless. Like God forbid Vegeta or Hiei or Saito or whoever asserted themselves right? Then I guess making 90% of the story about the main character would be in vain?

Zoro gets mad at Luffy about not being serious enough because he got caught off-guard by Caesar and suggests if that continues they'll get killed and that they can't be doing that in the early stages of the New World.

I feel that if that particular situation happened and Luffy gave Kaido a chance, Zoro would have called him a foolish leader and he may have even said he warned everyone about it when Luffy has gotten them in trouble before.

That was all just speculation. As things stand, Luffy has not failed in that way, so it was just some thoughts I had before ZKK, but he would have cited the Sabaody incident as precedent.
