Also, Imu does seem to be building to have some level of sympathy for him, if he really was Joy Boy's friend. Like it seems he felt angry and betrayed the way he shouted his name.

But Blackbeard killed one brother and sold another down the river with a twinkle in his eye. Like, even if Imu has some fucked up logic, he seems he thinks his reign is for the best. Teach doesn't have *any* morals.

As bad as Imu is for what the World Nobles have done, as @Reborn alluded to, he's in his own way, even worse then them all.
I mean, Teach joined the WB pirates with the sole purpose of finding the Yami fruit. Must've sucked to have waited for it for decades only to have a fellow nakama eat it. And Teach is from a clan that was hunted down for centuries, while his ancestor may had been the king of the world.

Of course Blackbeard will be cooking. Blackbeard is often referred to as the anti thesis to Luffy's philosophy.

The final villain doing the most atrocities is more satisfying and cohesive for the story. Blackbeard and Xebec are both victims of Imu as well, the latter ruined their lives. Beating Imu will be personal for majority of the cast, and will feel cathartic. Characters that have suffered directly from the World Government. Thematically, Imu fits as well as the counterpart to freedom. Meanwhile, Blackbeard and Luffy are two sides of the same coin, Blackbeard is also a character rooted in freedom and chasing dreams.

Cohesive shounens with more satisfying endings and one built up FV:
FMA
MHA

Dogshit shounen endings with shoehorned FVs or twist:
Naruto
Bleach
AoT
One Piece if Blackbeard steps up in the final minutes of the fight. Literally has no bearing at all to majority of the present players. He’ll only be a personal fight for the SHs.

I’m sorry but somebody has to say it, you guys don’t know basic storytelling and you just like Blackbeard as a character lol. I love him too, but he’s not the fitting FV to tie up everything neatly.
Yeah I think the same. Imu definitely is main villain of one piece and all bad things happening is caused either directly or indirectly by imu's rule. BB can't compare to that narrative. His rule will be very brief.

Adding more to it imu could even be from first world and the main villain behind the war in first world as well.

Either of them are good or bad ending for me, be it straight forward, or be it a twist, these are pretty much typical japanese storytelling.

Oh shyt Loki got animated???

I will put this way. I'm not sure if he will be FINAL villain. But probably the main one. Like think of Sasuke being the final villain of Naruto but Madara/Kaguya being the main one thing. Perhaps everyone join forces against Imu and after that there will still be another villain to defeat. Aka Blackbeard of course.

Oda once again couldn't help himself and made Imu suck on Joyboy's (Goofy's) sausage.

Unless there's some other hidden villain, i'd prefer if Teach somehow awaken his fruit and absorb Imu or something similar, while his crew kills the Lamerosei (despite his pathetic GV performance Garling is still an exception)
Funny how you complain about JoyBoy sausage sucking by Imu yet asks for Teach to absorb him, suspect, and then sausage suck Garling yourself.

BB has no real connection to anything. Even if he dies next chapter, nothing changes, he's just another yonkou.
His main hype seems to be cause of his dad and ancestor. Plus he and his crew are weak.

Imu and the World Government on the other hand is literally responsible for everything bad that happened for the past 800 years. He also has strong subordinates like the Gorosei and even the admirals to fight off all the allies.
Sir, this is a Wendy's.

In case you haven't noticed, one piece is about pirates and adventures, not pirate revolutionaries.

Blackbeard is the perfect antagonist to end a series about pirates and adventure.
