Both your background and the suffering of your detrans friends
I'm detrans, for the record. I've lived a very 'dark' life. I avoid mentioning it because I'm not trying to garner sympathy. However, long story short:
Abused by my father. Made homeless when he stole our assets and left us. Forced into ghettos by the government. Abused/bullied (some of it racial). I also was diagnosed with severe ADHD. All of it led me to having fucked up identity issues. They were already forming at age 4 due to the physical abuse, and I already saw myself as a girl by that point - but the psychology is, I thought if I was someone else I'd be loved (of course, I did not know this at the time).
By the time I was a teen I wanted suicide by transition after two suicide attempts. I accomplished the former. I was transitioned for 8 years, went through the hormones and surgeries, passed as a woman, and got to live the 'trans-passing dream'. It wasn't enough. I was basically living a persona, and I was incredibly unstable. Along the way I learned to deal with life, with myself, and came to realise what I wanted all along from this short time on Earth.
Instead of killing myself when forced to face what I'd done, I brought myself back from the brink and took the hard path back from transition. I started detransitioning 5 years ago, and used the few skills I had cultivated during my time as trans (through my degree and contacts), and built a career whilst also creating a network to assist other detrans individuals. I now work with Genspect as a speaker and writer alongside my full-time job.
I also finally married the woman who stuck with me since before I transitioned in the first place.
Logiko can seriously fuck off. He has no idea of struggle or redemption.
