For Luffy to put up a fight against Imu, there prolly has to be some sort of communication with Joyboy somehow.
So I do wonder if Luffy's voice of all tings getting upgraded prior to the M3 coming up from the underworld is be what allows him to have said communication with Joyboy.

Coz Luffy getting mad about Gaban losing an arm etc. is not really going to move the needle.
Look forward to how Luffy grows this arc with Gaban scolding him regardless though ^^

Of course they’re waiting for the Straw Hat Pirates as a whole, especially Luffy. The story has only repeated that point about a dozen times through multiple characters.
When it comes to Imu, Luffy is being singled out for a reason, as in latest update from Gaban. Either he is the only one capable of facing Imu 1 vs 1 on his peak strength, or his abilities possess some special counter/hax against Imu.

Yeah, people who think Imu isn't above Yonko level(the 5 of them who are left, I guess) can't really explain how it makes sense story wise for him to maintain his position on the throne for so long

I doubt Luffy is in any shape to take on Imu after Gaban saved him from a third impalement.
So imo this chapter seems to indicate Elbaph will end sooner rather than later and give way to Shanks, Teach and other players to make a move towards the final confrontation with Imu.

Tbf, at no point was it ever mentioned that Imu actually HAD a time limit. Lol. We all just assumed that because of how concerned the Gorosei were, and how Imu was coughing up blood when he first showed up. He definitely has SOME kind of limitation or downside to doing this, but it might not just be "Oops, out of time. Guess I'm gonna get auto summoned back to the Holy Land!".

And yes, there isn't a power creep comparable to Kaguya in Naruto, but Imu is decisively above one Yonko, that was the point of Shanks' concerns who said that Imu's power is incomprehensible.

Kaido wanted a fruit because his shipmate, Whitebeard, had a fruit also... As I said, it is a cheap way to power.
It is nothing special that allows one to break through human limits. He didnt become god tier after eating it, despite being the strongest 10 years after eating the fruit...

Blackbeard ate two and still is merely in the realm of old legends... Right after eating 2nd fruit and proclaiming he is the strongest now, it is his era, he backed down against Shanks, the hakiman, saying he aint ready to fight him yet... Despite taking on 2 legends of Marines...

Shanks merely said that Imu's power cannot be measured, dont try to twist this statement. Imu has many things locked inside his Omen locker, it is a fair statement that his power is hard to measure because one doesnt know what he has inside it... There is also the thing with Covenants, which he most likely benefits from and gets stronger from forging as well as the treasure of MJ which he likely can use to further add things to his skillset... That's why his power cannot be measured.

Military power is exactly what is needed, one guy will never achieve anything.
A military power of a single crew was never gonna work against the strongest organization in history.
That is why Nika is turning everyone he meets into his allies, his future military power.
That's why basically all Pirates, Revolutionaries and strongest allied nations like Wano and Elbaf will all join hands to take on the strongest military in the world.

Imu is a jack of all trades, he has yet to prove he is a master of any single one.
For all we know, he may be weaker than present-day Shanks. A guy with haki ability to nullify all Imu's buffs.
