General & Others Why have we not seen a single character who aspires to be WSS?

#84
Oda never gave this kind of underline to non Luffy SH. There is not a single guy who wants to make a map of the world even if that woukd benefice everybody, only Sanji talks about all blue, make a panacea is the same. Foro Zoro is the same or almost, he fights every arc the strongeat swordsman he finds, they probably don't care about the WSS, just to be or become the best help possible for their captain but Zoro does and that is all that matters, just like for the other SHs.

It is factually a polearm just like the naginata, spear, trident, glaive etc.

Your made up descriptions and labels aren't an argument and also irrelevant.
And no sword in real life looks like Mihawks sword. WB weapon is a meitou. Literally meaning famous sword. Your feelings here are irrelevant when the weapon is classified as sword and made by a sword smith. Not just a smith

As always ppl trying to single out the WSS title to diminish it .
:pepeke:

Why have we not seen a single character who aspires to be WSM,WSC,WSS?

:catpole:
Nobody wants to be a Yonko, but people still wank that title to the high heavens for some reason

Whitebeard's Bisento is one of the 12 Supreme Grade SWORDS.
In chapter 912, when we got a refresher on the blade ranks, there was a picture of various weapons in the background. One was a bisento like WB’s (which we later found out was one of the 12 Supreme grade blades) and a spear.

Are you going to say that a spear is a sword too? Are all bladed weapons swords?

Putting a bisento, a samurai blade, in the same bracket as a katana is no less ridiculous than putting a rapier or broadsword in that same bracket because they work in entirely different ways despite being swords. The one guy has a third sword in his mouth, I don't think we're talking about logical classifications.

Thats as stupid as saying any weapon with a blade constitutes as a sword. Why stop at a bisento. Is blackbeards 3 bladed claw a sword ? Kuros claws are they swords ? Kaidos club has spikes why not call that a sword too. Killers scythe ? Who gives a shit if its a fuckin farming tool thats a sword too.

1. If Zoro lost to the kukri blades, iron cloud sword, bisento, or scythes, if Blackbeard mauled him with small blades the way MIHAWK mauled him with a small blade... he would feel the same sort of shame.

2. Zoro performed his three sword signature, Oni Giri, with a scythe. It's a little hard to say it doesn't count when the main swordsman in the series accepts it.

3. Kuro literally had katana at the ends of his hands so another bad example. Kaido's club? You can't be taken seriously if you don't understand how that's different from a bisento.

None of that has anything to do with other bladed weapons being swords. You can use a stick like a sword. Doesnt make it a sword. Its a proper lame ass argument.

wait wait wait, don't jump to conlusion

Meito(名刀)

刀 ("TO") could mean sword I agree with you, but it can also means blade, depending on the contest.
Since that also spears could be a Meito it's clear that in our contest 刀 stands for blade rather than sword

you dont gain anything by being wss. on contrary you gain everything with being PK. fame power wealth. as simple as that. thats why being pk is 100 times harder than being mere wss.
why ppl aim for little when they can get bigger.
To become pirate king roger stole a copy from meme (something brook could do) begged his rival for his crew member and everything else fell in his lap beating no one on the way. None of that is as difficult as beating a top tier.
