That's what I'm talking about. Why couldn't Minks damage Jack back in Zou if they had Ryou all this time.

I think it is being portrayed in this chapter literally as they were hiding it as a trump card to use against Kaido, PIS yes, but so is the zoans holding back their awakened Hybrid forms.

Are you implying that Goku or Superman cant hurt Kaido cause they have no Ryou?
It's a simple matter of AP and Oda is ignoring it with the scabbards.

Scale defence is a hard counter to non Ryou infused attacks. It's like saying can Superman damage Enel without Haki or rubber gloves.
Luffy was more satisfied with his base tree destroying fist being effective against Kaido than the Kong organ he used.
Now Luffy has the best Ryou on the island.

I just tried to explain why Kinemon (+ other scabbards) are able to hurt Kaido with Ryo, while Luffy without Ryo in Gear 4 wasnt able to. But you obviously just want to spread some salt. Also i dont really care for these Power-Level-Discussions. So i end the discussion here from my side.

Scabbards with ryo hurt Kaido, elephant gatling didnt. So focused on one point, yeah the ryo attack of them had more AP.
But Elephant Gatling is also an AOE-Attack, which should be considered with that argumentation.

It has more AoE sure, but it was a spam of punches in the face and Kaido did not bleed anything at all.
So scabbards making damage to Kaido while Luffy nothing makes no sense and Oda is ignoring the AP like I said.

adv haki bypasses durability, regular haki doesn't, it does not matter AP level if you have adv haki, even chopper could damage kaido if he had ryo.
