Kaido will beat the scabbards and SNs and win this entire battle

many people including Kaido fans expected the scabbards to damage him, there obviously a twist coming and all this damage won't mean much on the long run

beside the battle started and Oda is still building up sub plots for the future( BM have a plan, Black Maria song have a meaning, Orachi return ), hence Kaido Saga is still far from over

To the people defending Kaido and Oda, how would you guys feel if Vivi was suddenly slicing and dicing Crocodile just because she had an Alabasta flashback. That is the equivalent to what’s going on with Kaido and the Scabbards right now
Lol? No. Lets stop comparing apples to oranges here. You wanna make a comparison? That would be like Hiyori or Tama cutting Kaido, not the Scabbards.

Its interesting that this chapter receives some focus on Carrot/Yamato

- A big argument for Carrot fans was the pure fact that she needed some form of signficance in Wano beyond just being "present" with the Strawhats. Most people saw that as the potential future confrontation between Carrot and Perospero over Pedro. This is a GREAT first step to that idea. She's actually trying to get revenge on him. Now, we have no idea how this will play out, but it is signficant that we get this far. We may even get a small flashback between her and Pedro to help refine that idea. Or Wanda joins in, since she's been MIA for 15 chapters, and Oda splits the payoff/focus between both of them.

- Yamato being on the Jump cover with Luffy is a pretty huge deal. Like bigger than most people realize. 99% of the Jump covers almost ALWAYS involve a the following: Luffy, other Strawhats, and/or a Villain. There are VERY few exceptions, like ones that have Rayleigh, Roger or Oden, or one with the 4 Yonko, or several movie characters for a film promotion. Vivi has been on several, but she technically is a Strawhat. Kobra is also on one, but like Oden/Rayleigh/etc, he is fundamental to specific issues present in the story. Yamato is practically the first character on the cover with Luffy that is NOT (yet?) a Strawhat and has NOT been shown yet why they are so important (unlike everyone else that has been on a Jump cover). Keep in mind that there are over a Hundred featured Jump covers of One Piece, and very few break the staple of Luffy/Strawhats/Villains. Yamato being on the cover is very interesting to say the least. For reference: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Shonen_Jump

tldr: Yamato being on a Jump cover is super unorthodox (unless Oda is planning to make Yamato a strawhat) and Carrot going after Pero is the payoff Carrot fans have been waiting for.

HA001

World's Strongest Swordsman
You don't read the manga do you?

It was initially both of them but then it was just Marco.

As for the other comments it's a bit tryhard don't you think? Oda is giving them Oden's haki to damage Kaido. This is someone we know is stronger than Akainu from Oda himself. So if they did this to Kaido then Akainu would likely be dead already.
They dont have odens haki. Oden is dead.

You see like these scenes would be actually had potential to become great...if kaido was not hyped at all. If that was the case. These scenes would have felt like a win for the underdogs.... And when(assuming) kaido strikes back, readers would feel they underestimated the Yonko.

Why are you bringing up Pre Timeskip arcs when Post Timeskip has a different style?

Besides Wyper defeated one of Enel's Monks and nearly defeated Enel

I'm not sure why people don't expect it to end badly. Like yes, great, they hurt Kaido. Payoff is finally coming for their anticipated revenge. But this manga is still about Luffy and his voyage. In the end, Kaido will be his adversary. Thus, in the end, Kaido will beat the Scabbards from something we just don't know yet.

Have patience. Unfortunately, Wano will be the longest arc by far. It will take time to realize the big picture.
Clearly Odas nerfing Kaido A LOT.... for Luffys sake which is..... not suprising i guess. But Didnt think the nerf would be to this degree. If the Scabbards really are doing what Oden did Kaido's chest is cut open......The hype for this Kaido fight is really dwindling tbh. Unless Kaido does a 180 and heals all that damage with his Zoan powers, Luffys growth is REALLY in question tbh. Unless Odas is gonna be non stop with the fights and growth after Wano arc I dont see how Luffy and his crew will ever accomplish anything by themselves without allies.

" WE will protect him without fail"
Sry but Marco/Vista and fodder stalemated a nerfed Akainu, but you said it was Marco alone. You're objectively proven wrong.

Oda hasn't confirmed shit, but what Oda confirmed to us was Akainu's superiority over Shanks and Teach in 2012.

Also, don't think that you'll be able to drag me into a MF discussion to distract from this chapter.
Trust me, i ain't forgetting what the Scrubbards are doing to the fraud.

No joke, I think people need to pay attention to these 2. They are being set up in different ways to have significance in the future. We are finally revisiting stuff with Pedro, which IS important because of his last words to Carrot on WCI. Yamato having a vastly different color scheme than originally thought, plus being on a cover with Luffy which is an immense rarity that is only reserved One Piece's biggest characters, villains or literal Strawhats.

My 2 cents is that Yamato will official join as the 11th Strawhat, then Carrot will stowaway post Wano, which is very similar to how she originally did it after Zou, plus how Inu/Neko did in Oden's flashback. This chapter proves that Oda still loves parallels (with the Scabbards attacking and hurting Kaido like Oden), this would be exactly the type of parallel we should expect.
