The thing is, is that simply being able to damage Kaido, isn't enough to solidify anyone as a YC caliber character. We know Duke, Neko, Ashura, and Denjiro for sure are hovering around low high tier.

And I mean, Kaido is still the most naturally durable character in the series. We still haven't seen what happens when he mixes armament haki with his Dragon scales, which I am sure that's what Oda is saving for Luffy to get past.

Given that we don't know the circumstances of what really happened at Baltigo and if the Blackbeard Pirates really had a fight with the marines and CP0 or if they were just leaving when the WG forces arrived and Blackbeard decided to not go through another fight after their potential early skirmish with the RA, and the fact that CP0 control the newspapers to a big degree, I take this news with a grain of salt.

but you would be lying if you said this isnt suprising. you had people on here that painted zoro being the first to cut/harm kaido in wano as one of his big feats coming out of the arc. you see scabbards pulling it off and now we have come down to
being able to damage Kaido, isn't enough to solidify anyone as a YC caliber character.
its def a step down in expectation. but kaido isnt weak and isnt losing to the scabbards either.

Of course they ran. As I said, BB isn't dumb. It was not a bitch move, it was very intelligent. Why would he waste his time fighting off Akainu? He could very well do other more important things like preparing a plan to become PK.
