ONE PIECE CHAPTER 992: REMNANTS

I think our dear boy Peros is going to betray his Mama. His face in this chapter, plus his immediate idea to name the crew after him, means it'll be some inner-crew turmoil in the near future.
Did you seriously ignore the part where he said that he wants to see Big Mom become Pirate King, it was even stated before that he doesn't trust the alliance and he wants to see the BMP become victorious.
wow...really liked the fight choreography...it seems it is first One Piece major fight after Luffy vs Katakuri...really looking forward of the animated version of this chapter....
Going the way events are happening we are going to see through the end of the whole fight of Scabbards vs Kaido without getting offpaneled....
well, this week admiral fans are going to have a field day......well, it is their time......
BigMom is planning something and Marco is looking cool in this panel...oh and perespero never fails to amuse me..
Also, downside of this chapter is that what is the purpose of Blackmaria sequence and it came out of nowhere and was just there to fill the panels but I hope there is some strong payoff for that sequence....
oh, there is this unnecessary Carrot scene ....
good that there is no break next chapter....
PS: Better Oda show us the usefulness of dragon form or let him turn into human form.

I think Im going to make a thread about why what the Scabbards are doing and what Oden did shouldn't be given to other characters. The way Kaido speaks, he reiterates that Oden is the standard for Ryou that is able to hurt him. So, these feats shouldn't be given to other characters be it Yonko, Admiral, Mihawk or whoever. This is pure Oden wank and the fact that the scabbards are channeling his energy and spirit with their resolve is something that is evidently special.
No transfer of feats to other characters! This is Oden and the Scabbards feats! They are doing an amazing job and it seems Kaido is only fazed by Oden level Haki hence why his henchman are losing their mind. No other character in the series has done this to Kaido. Not Yonko, Not Admiral, Not Hawkeye.

Perhaps it will take another reiteration by Kaido and the people around him to make it clear whats happening is out of the norm even with people who have Ryou!

Yeah, my bets on matchups so far:
- Nami/Usopp vs. Ulti/P1 (with the potential of Chopper switching with Usopp and Usopp fighting someone like Orochi or Kanjuro or something)
- Yamato vs. Black Maria (the way the scene plays out, it almost seems like she's running towards her)
- Franky vs. Sasaki
- Carrot/Wanda vs. Perospero
- Marco vs. Big Mom (until the BMP arrive, then things will get a bit more chaotic)
- Killer vs. Who's Who
- Robin vs. Fukurokuju
- Brook vs. Hotei
- Jinbe vs. Jack
- Zoro/Sanji vs. King/Queen
- Luffy, Kid, Law, and Drake vs. Kaido (after the Scabbards lose). Potentially Kid and Law's subordinates have their moments too against fodder.
I will make a (small) argument for Zoro vs. Queen however. The way Oda set up Zoro and Killer, it almost feels like they will pair up or have their moment in the future. If Killer does end up fighting Who's Who, Queen and Who's Who are now known to sort of known as a duo considering what they did to Drake. I could totally see Zoro and Killer fighting Queen and Who's Who in a semi tagteam matchup.
IF the BMP actually join in these battles however, then all bets are off and I have no idea what the matchups are going to be, because right there you add in Smoothie, Campote, Daifuku, Snack, Amande and quite a few other potentially dangerous pirates into the mix. By that point, we'd need further allies to come in and join the battles. Hopefully this would leave the potential for the former Whitebeard pirates to come in and fight too. To have Joz, Vista, and the other commanders have some big moments this arc in dealing with the BM pirates would be fantastic.
Hopefully Marco reached out to them/sent them all a message.

It's not underestimating I think. The manner in which he speaks, it's so clear that no one he has fought in these past 20 years has been capable of matching Oden's cutting skill or Haki usage. He's openly faced other Top Tiers and challenged them yet the Scabbards now channeling Oden energy is causing him to lose his shit.
I think it's time to have people stop attributing this feat or Oden's feat to other characters who they think are stronger. If they could have done this, they would have already in these past 20 years. Kaido only speaks of Oden!
