I heard 994 is meant to be the end of the volume, can someone confirm this? Maybe this could lead to a big tragedy for 994 instead of towards 1000 instead? Although I still think Act 3 is gonna end nearer to 1000 and 1000 will be outside Wano with another major a character reveal.
There's so many characters I would love to be that Izo is reacting to, but knowing Oda it's gonna be what we don't expect/see coming. Or it's gonna be Kiku getting bodied unfortunately. Some of those characters appearing would probably require more stretching than what Luffy can do, but I'd still love it.
For example, I'd love it if it was Lafitte for example. Lafitte could have flown up there and maybe the BBs pirates have snuck into Wano as Kaido, BM and the commanders are busy. The BB pirates have themes of infilitration and deception with their DFs so far, so maybe it could be possible? A man can dream right?
But aren't the BM pirates still back at the entrance to Wano? Unless they're arrived instead? Although I imagine the BM pirates would be looking for and going to BM ofc....
I have a feeling the actual result is gonna be disappointing though, given all the potential characters who could finally appear as they should by now.

Don't be stupid guys, move characters aren't coming up. They already have been used.
Oda just wanted to do something hype for the movie but it's important to remember the break in canon. The movie is like alternate history/what if but in the manga shiki is still a former rocks pirate in hiding and his desire for the ancient weapons shown in chapter 0 lines up with kaido and big mom's alliance to get the ancient weapons
Yes, 994 should be the end of Volume 98 (assuming its 10 chapters). It would match the flow of volume 97, where Yamato's design was teased in 983, but the face not shown until 984 when the volume ended.
Teasing a character this chapter then revealing it in 994 would align with the volumes generally ending in big ways. For reference, volume 96 ended with Kanjuro being the traitor and Luffy, Kid and Law showing up.

I mean I've been saying this for very long time.
If you look at Kaido's crew it's not just the sheer numbers that match strowhat numbers but also the way the crew is structured. For example, Kaido has two females in his crew just like Luffy, Kaido has swordsmen right hand man "king" just Like Luffy "Zoro", Kaido has technology using left hand man"Queen" just like Luffy "Sanji", Kaido has a Fishman as his third commander "Jack" just like Luffy "Jinbe", Kaido has Who's Who, who is the second strongest after commanders and also uses sword just like Luffy has Franky, as second strongest after his commanders and also uses sword in general Franky form, Kaido has Sasaki as his third strongest after commander who is also a sword user just Like Luffy has Brook, Kaido has X Drake who isn't that much interested in fighting for Kaido just Like Luffy has Ussop who isn't interested in fighting for his own reasons, Kaido has a young crew member "Page One" just like Luffy "Choper".
There is no doubt in my mind that all the strowhats (including Luffy) will have their 1v1 fights in this arc. I've said it multiple times and I'm saying it again "there's going to be a moment in Wano arc where everyone are defeated and the only one who will be stending will be Kaido with his crew and Luffy with his crew" and that will be the final round of this war.
