Shanks would have been his last worthy challenger considering he's waiting for someone to surpass him. So Mihawk really hasn't fought anyone of note for the past 14 years. In that time frame Shanks built up his crew and himself until he reached the current pinnacle of the Pirate World, and became a yonko.
