Regardless I think even if he had a sister no person in the world can substitute for Kuina sadly. It's a real shame, but I'm sure the one woman Zoro will one day marry will remind of her somehow and I'm thinking about Tashigi of course. A destiny that took away something from Zoro but will give him back in another form.
I feel this is one of those times, where calling things by their English translation would have been more useful. "Yonko" as everyone knows means 4 Emperors. In fact, this was probably inspired by the Roman Empire's year of the 4 Emperors

Shanks and Mihawk were both Top Tiers when they were fighting. Any increase after that would only be incremental. It takes Shanks years/decades to become an Emperor, not because of strength, but because of all the politics, sailing, alliances b.s. The reason Blackbeard became a Yonko so fast is because he usurped Whitebeard's empire by taking out Marco & co. Shanks didn't have this luxury. He started from scratch.

That would add to Luffy's specialness because he's the opposite. He's gaining clout, influence, and allies much faster than the strength to match it. It's why BM/Kaido refuse to acknowledge his emperor status and it's probably the very thing Shanks gambled on at the very beginning of the story. Charisma over monstrous strength.
To add to this: how does someone become a top tier or get stronger when they are already a top tier? Probably by fighting other top tiers! When BM and Kaido conversed about their alliance, it sounded like they hadn't actually confronted each other directly in a long time. We're told that Roger and WB went at it a lot. How many times could Shanks have fought directly against Kaido, Big Mom, Whitebeard, admirals, etc. after his duels with Mihawk? I'm not aware of any, but probably just a few at most. It would make sense he got stronger, but not a huge amount, and that he was already a top tier when fighting hawk eyes.

Yep. Law even confirmed this when he said, they engaged in TERRITORIAL battles with other Emperors. I'm sure their subordinates/generals clashed all the times. But Emperor encounters were rare.
