So it looks like this chapter has pretty much set in stone that Luffy will be the one who takes down Kaido. Not that it should have ever been doubted, but we the information we got here solidified it. Ace wanted to go back to Wano, and take down Kaido, but never got to fulfill that promise. But what is extremely interesting, is that in the flashback, we are shown that Marco and Izo wanted to go to Wano with Ace, to help him. Now here we are a few years later, and who happens to be on Wano, while Ace's brother is there to take down Kaido? Marco and Izo, the same two who wanted to help Ace, will now help Luffy accomplish the deed.
There is something else just as interesting that I noticed this chapter as well, and it highly indicates that Zoro is going to scar the other side of Kaido's body. A few things lead me to believe this. The first, is now that we know Kaido has a mythical Fish fruit, if we look back to Fishman Island, Zoro used Shishi Sonson, to land a blow against Hordy Jones, A FISH-man, who would be Luffys final opponent for the Arc. Then, in the very next Arc, Zoro used Shi-Shishi Sonson to take down the Dragon on Punk Hazard. We also have this arc being somewhat of a call back to Thriller Bark, and in that Arc, Zoro used Shishi Sonson to try and save Luffy from Kuma.
So where am I going with all this? Well Shishi Sonson is a singular slash attack that Zoro uses, that seems to be one of, if not his most powerful cutting attack. Just one single slash, which deals heavy amounts of damage. When this chapter opened up, I realized something, that nobody ever really focused on, the first time it happened when Big Mom and Marco clashed in 995 and got this.
There was nothing really telling about it. They clashed, and it made a singular line through the left half of the giant skull on Onigashima. But then, this chapter opened up with Ace and Yamato clashing, and we got this.
Another clash, in the same spot Marco and Big Mom fought, which created another singular line, through the left half of the giant skull on Onigashima. Initially, I didn't put two and two together, but when I was finishing reading up the chapter, it hit me after remembering about the layout of the stuff on the rest of the island.
On the left side of the giant skull, sit three banners that resemble the pommel of a Katana, and then a giant sword. So if my prediction is right, at some point during the fight against Kaido, Zoro will deliver a Shi Shishi Sonson to Kaido's left side, scaring him directly opposite from where Oden scarred him. And if that's the case, Oda is an absolute madlad for setting it up the way he did.
