What in the world has Kid above Law that makes people put Kid at YC1 but not Law?

Comparison doesn't make sense and Zoro is already outshining Kid and Law currently by trashing Apoo who was portrayed as Kid's rival.

Because he both already established the general ballpark of Y1Cs and also Law´s in Dressrosa. And he did not train or something unlike Luffy and Zoro.
Pre-TS portrayal is irrelevant, Urouge had the worst portrayal and went on to be the only dude besides Luffy to beat a YC.
People thought Hawkins and Apoo are legitimate, and here we are.
If you are talking the short scene in which they attacked together, it showcased the alliance of the three pirate captains, has nothing to do with equal strength.

In regards to Kid, he at least threw himself into every fight from the get-go. And obviously he suffered because of it as well, but he certainly grew as well.
Whereas Law chilled and waited for his chance, and even generally followed a different goal.

But i also never said that Kid is necessarily Y1C either. There is no indication where he stands right now, can be anywhere in the high tier spectrum. But with Kid Oda at least has some leeway to justify every level he ends up at.

Kidd is portrayed as Luffy's closest rival from his generation through multiple parallels that the author intentionally draws between the two and character interactions while Zoro is Luffy’s underling. This shit isn’t rocket science just read the manga without bias. There is a reason that Zoro has been outshined by Law for almost all of NW. Oda will not allow Luffy’s closest rivals to be outshined by an underling on his crew.

Kid is not Luffy's rival. This is made clear in this arc several times.

Luffy is the big boy here that the Yonkou have their eyes on. Kid is an underling of Luffy in this battle, nothing more.

Just to be clear here, i'm sure Kidd will have his moment. He will do significant damage on Kaidou, that i'm sure. He will be recoginzed as one of the leading pirates after Wano. But nooo Kidd is not gonna outshine Zoro, not even close. It's like saying Cavendish will outshine Zoro in Dressrossa because he's also a Supernova of the previous gen, bickered with Luffy, and wanted to take down Doffy. Oda didn't spend an entire plotline on Zoro growing fond with the Wano citizens, getting the magic sword from Oden, only for him to be outshined by Kidd.

Yeah but I mean, Blackbeard is rather Luffy's Mihawk. He's his rival, yes, but Blackbeard is so much ahead of Luffy, bringing him up as an equation is kinda faulty tbh.

Meanwhile, the gap between Kidd and Luffy is much closer than the gap between Luffy and Blackbeard.

Yet again, it's about your point of view whom you consider Luffy's true rival. And even if Blackbeard is Luffy's 'true' rival, we can say at least that Kidd is a much better rival to Luffy than the other supernovas, including Law.
