Quite interesting to see there are equal votes between the side who favors sabo and the side who dislikes sabo. :zorothink:

Not quite the same, but we do have alternate version for that scenario (although sabo is also still a brother here)

there are fans of dressrosa arc? Lol
Well i really liked it. Agreed the pacing could had been better but otherwise i was pretty into it.

Because i have the impression that it´s not a very popular arc from other places i have visited on the internet.
Which places?
By the way a good chunk I would say yeah. Mostly for the Doflamingo plot however. Not quite other characters, at least going by what I hear. Sabo is not one of the most favourite DR characters in WG, but still holds several fans regardless.

Your thoughts on the Ace/Sabo character and plot?

Also this:
Sabo's story is completely worthless. Ace could know the bounty of his rookie little brother but not once heard of the infamous #2 Revo Sabo that even fodder pirates and marines knew about? Sabo never seen a bounty of Ace 3 years before his death?

Him getting the Mera does nothing as well and he's just Ace with less personality.

To be honest, i also don't like sabo as a character. As some people had said, sabo just seems like a replacement figure for ace (brother figure with even the same DF). I just feel that diminishes the impact of ace's death for luffy (luffy losing his brother).
I don't think Sabo will replace Ace. Luffy spent much more time with Ace and from what we have seen their bond was stronger. I don't think Sabo is a bad character, but Ace was Luffy's real brother, not Sabo. You only have to look at Luffy's reaction after Ace's death. It was a turning point for Luffy. I think the people who made Luffy who he is at the beginning of the series are Ace, Shanks and Garp. These three are Luffy's real family.

Leave Ace's story as it is.

I'll have to see more of Sabo in action before deciding. He's doing okay so far, but he isn't necessarily an interesting character like Katakuri.
You are right. Ace's story was necessary for Luffy's development.

I have nothing against Sabo either. He's a good character. But there are dozens of more original characters with more personality.

Flashback Sabo is cool.

Modern Sabo is meh at best and seems to be leeching everything that made pre-skip Dragon cool in becoming the face of the RA.

And nobody knowing he existed until after Ace died will always be stupid, as are amnesia plots in general.

Only thing i like about him is when he went batshit insane and started raving about Ace’s spirit being the one to hurt Burgess, but I’m like 90% that Oda didn’t intend him to seem so deranged there.

I personally like Sabo, however I do feel like he was handled rather poorly. I'm fine with the amnesia plot, I'm fine with him having the mera mera cause, memento of Ace, what I am not fine with however is how no one, not a single person, knew he was alive. We know he was a commander before Ace died, yet, no one knew? But in Dressrosa we learn that he's super infamous, and even some of the fodder know about Sabo? Ace was a commander on Whitebeards crew, and you're telling me he never heard about the revolutionaries or about Sabo? I'm not surprised Luffy never heard anything, as Luffy is an idiot and we know he never told his crew about Sabo when he thought he was still dead since they were surprised when they found out he had another brother.

I just feel more care could have been taken when it came to revealing him, or at least make it more obvious that Sabo is really unknown to the world. It feels more like everyone knows who Sabo is, and if we as readers were made aware that "Hey, the second in command chief of staff is this monster" sort of like we are being given with Green Bull. No knowledge, just little hints that he's this incredibly strong fighter that he's got these "Sharp claws that tear through anything" and maybe throw in that he uses an iron staff or something relating to his pipe. Then when he's introduced in Dressrosa, we get to see how these rumors started. Then we get an answer for why no one knew, because he was this big mystery that people only knew rumors of. I'm sure someone else could come up with a better way to fix this, but like, there's ways this could have been done more effectively.

I've never been really interested by either of them, especially Sabo given all the similarities he has with Ace in terms of appearance and personnality and the fact that he ate the Mera Mera no mi.

The amnesia plot was handled quite poorly tbh, just like Big Mom's amnesia in Wano.

I would have kept him dead or at least given him a personnality really different from his bros and never given him the Mera.
