I personally like Sabo, however I do feel like he was handled rather poorly. I'm fine with the amnesia plot, I'm fine with him having the mera mera cause, memento of Ace, what I am not fine with however is how no one, not a single person, knew he was alive. We know he was a commander before Ace died, yet, no one knew? But in Dressrosa we learn that he's super infamous, and even some of the fodder know about Sabo? Ace was a commander on Whitebeards crew, and you're telling me he never heard about the revolutionaries or about Sabo? I'm not surprised Luffy never heard anything, as Luffy is an idiot and we know he never told his crew about Sabo when he thought he was still dead since they were surprised when they found out he had another brother.
I just feel more care could have been taken when it came to revealing him, or at least make it more obvious that Sabo is really unknown to the world. It feels more like everyone knows who Sabo is, and if we as readers were made aware that "Hey, the second in command chief of staff is this monster" sort of like we are being given with Green Bull. No knowledge, just little hints that he's this incredibly strong fighter that he's got these "Sharp claws that tear through anything" and maybe throw in that he uses an iron staff or something relating to his pipe. Then when he's introduced in Dressrosa, we get to see how these rumors started. Then we get an answer for why no one knew, because he was this big mystery that people only knew rumors of. I'm sure someone else could come up with a better way to fix this, but like, there's ways this could have been done more effectively.
