Not everyone is sold on Zoro being a (low) top tier yet.
I think the acceptance of that conclusion is inevitable, but I can understand the hesitance for people that have overly strict definitions of "top tier" or believe that Marco gets low/mid diffed by even the weakest top tier.
What I consider unreasonable is the belief that any high tier (Post WCI Luffy, Katakuri, Marco, etc.) is on par with or above Zoro.
Maybe it's because I'm unusually prone to update on new evidence. Maybe I'm reacting too strongly.
But at this point, I recieve the claim that Zoro is a high high tier the same way I received the claim that DR Zoro or Doffy were on the level of Mama's veterans: "utterly creditless. This person has nothing worthwhile to say. They are either disingenuous or just plain stupid. Either way, it's not worth my time".
It may manifest like this:
X is Y strong.
X gets new feats beyond Y's capabilities
X is Y strong, therefore other Y characters can pull it off.
Example:
A: Zoro is a YC 2 character.
Zoro: halts a finisher combination attack of two Yonkou in their powered up forms
A: Zoro is a YC 2, therefore Vista/Jozu/Marco must also be able to block Hakai
Cinera: *Incoherent screeching*
Law cannot use his DF on a character if their haki is too strong, but it doesn't mean that any character that Law can use his DF as weaker haki than Law.
It just means that their haki is strong enough to resist Law's DF strength.
Sakazuki's magma fist would not burn someone if their haki is strong enough, but it's their haki vs Sakazuki's DF potency, not their haki vs Sakazuki's haki.
Actually, now that I examine it in more detail, both Zoro's defensive prowess and his offensive prowess are above Issho. In the case of defence, Zoro is ludicrously above Issho (holding back Hakai for a few seconds vs getting sent flying by DR Luffy's Elephant Gun).
There's a credible argument to be made that Zoro beats Issho and I'm not sure how to refute it beyond scaling Issho to the L3 (which I don't endorse).
So I went to the Reddit discussion thread for Chapter 1009. Given that Zoro was indubitably the MVP of the chapter, I was curious what the Reddit folks had to say about him.
To my absolute shock, none of the first (Best sorting) dozen top level comments mentioned Zoro at all. It was as if to the Reddit user base, he simply wasn't present in the chapter.
