I'm sorry to disappoint you but typing that final post to smooth the waters still didn't stop me from contacting a lawyer and ask them about the possibilities to take legal action against you.
It turns out that the chances are there because gratuitous defamation was in place of things you couldn't even prove but just post words about, as well as (I know) a few false accusations even being thrown in the middle.
