RIP Shirato Sanpei... we lost Saito a month ago, Shirato now... Gekigakas still alive can be counted on one hand fingers now 🥺
I wish someday we'll have a french reedition of Kamuiden by Shirato Sanpei.

As an enormous gekiga/alternative manga enthusiast I'm appalled by the death of Takao Saito.
Saito was the last of the three founders of gekiga still alive.
We lost Matsumoto in 2004.
We lost one of my two favorite man(geki)gakas Yoshihiro Tatsumi in 2015.
We lost Saito in 2021.
Everyone, read Matsumoto, read Tatsumi, read Saito. Those three are the creators of the seinen's ancestor.
