Questions & Mysteries Why did WB run away?

Why did Rocks monster trio run away?

  • Because Garp > Loger obviously

  • Because Oda is smoking crack and doesn't know wtf he's writing anymore

  • Because they wanted to save Shakky duh (reading comprehension nerd cope)

People will do anything to try to stain Oyaji's good name...

He ran because he wanted to save Shakky and didn't have time to waste on Garp's crazy ass

Whitebeard isn't some super prideful battle junky. He'll run or avoid combat if it doesn't make sense or he has more pressing matters to attend to

He only stopped to combat Roger because he was quite literally in his way

Because he didnt run away in that sense.
He ran away because he had more pressing matters to do.
Which is advancing towards Shakky. Fighting Garp back there doesnt help.
It is a matter of reading comprehension. :luuh:
Oda could've made Whitebeard look less pathetic anyways. It's Whitebeard we are talking about. Could've let Whitebeard and Garp have an equal clash before Whitebeard said he has no time dealing with Garp in a calm demeanor, instead of immediately having a run for his money with whitened eyes.

Oda wants to portray garp , rocks and roger as 3 main monsters of this era. WB is bit younger and reaches prime later comparatively speaking. We see in oden's flashback WB was portrayed equal to roger.

All trolling aside Oda did do both Whitebeard and Roger kind dirty and they lost too much of that legendary aura they had.

It seems now Oda is only sucking on Xebec´s dick, balls deep in fact.

There was a 4 year age difference, with Whitebeard being 36 in that flashback. We have characters reaching their prime in their teenage years. Shanks became Yonko 6 years ago, at an age of 33, so Whitebeard was 3 years older than the Shanks who became Yonko.

Please, a man in his mid 30s isn't a rookie. He already had both ACoC and his Gura fruit. After God Valley he turned into a family man taking in orphans.

I agree but what I meant is if current roger and garp are 100 then this WB is 90. WB reached his full prime 2 years later at age 38.

I'm not sure what is hard to understand about a guy being at 70-80% of his peak?

There is no age formula to these things. Oda just does what he wants. There are certain ranges, but we've seen characters that peak in 40s/50s.
