We still don’t know a ton about Teach: Davy Clan, why he wanted the Yami Yami, what happened to Eris, why he fought Shanks, how he can use 2 DF powers...
And for at least one of these things you need to know Imu's past. Why does Xebec say Davy D Jones was the previous king of the world? What happened between Imu and Davy Jones? These are all threads that pretty much guarantee Teach and Imu will have to settle things eventually.

All it guarantees is there is unspoken lore/history between the Davy clan and Imu, like there is unspoken history between Joyboy and Imu or Lily and Imu, probably the previous Mermaid Princess and Imu, and Elbaph's War God and Imu. Emeth and Zunisha as well.
What you classify as "settling" belongs to myriad of other characters that fit the context of the void century. Blackbeard doesnt take precedence over any one else here, especially Joyboy/Luffy.
Do you know what the common factor is between all of these characters is? Imu. Not Blackbeard. Not the Davy Clan. Vivi, Shirahoshi, Loki, and Luffy all clearly have roles to play with Imu, on top of Teach.

It's tricky. Imu is revealed, but before that we got full disclosure regarding Teach's family tree (descendant of Davy Jones) plus knowledge of his power and more or less motives (though I am sure we haven't learned everything yet). So technically we still know less about Imu and we are in the final Saga after all.
Though I would still argue that Teach might outlast Imu. Davy Jones failed, Xebec failed, Teach has to give his ancestors justice by accomplishing what even Davy Jones couldn't. And given Imu is already afraid of Davy Jones, that's foreshadowing.
So if I had to bet, I would probably go with Teach at this point.

Elbaf isn't even finished yet but Imu's true form is already revealed.
Imu's weakness is also revealed: he couldn't use domi reversi on Luffy and Loki, then he had to go Elbaf by himself and bled there already.
Even though Teach isn't on Elbaf, Imu is still thinking about Teach.

And that’s why I think we’ll need to see most of the Void Century flashback before Laugh Tale.
You can’t wrap up Blackbeard’s character without understanding the Davy clan and Davy Jones, and that part of the story can’t be separated from the rest.
The key figures of the Void Century besides Imu are his two greatest enemies, Joyboy and Davy Jones. There’s no way Luffy defeats Blackbeard without Blackbeard confronting Imu first.
