It's funny how in just one chapter Xebec became way more fun of a villain then Imu's boring-ass "I'm a God, you're insects, blah blah blah" personality has done.
I'm disappointed how...mundane the name for Oars and his ilk are just "ancient giants". Come on, Oda, give them a real name. Jotnar, Formorians, Titans, something along those lines.
I can now see why Xebec's crewmembers didn't exactly have the highest opinion of him. What exactly was he going to do if Loki confirmed they weren't on Elbaf, kick his ass and then storm off?
So, reading OP Scans, does anyone get a kind of...like a manchild sort of vibe from Imu? I believe referring to yourself in the first person in Japanese is quite childish. And declaring his powers and such are evil, and the thing with Dorry and Brogy feels like a kid with new toys. I don't know, it almost seems like the thing with All For One's backstory, a kid playing as a villain or something.
Is it just me or have the Straw Hats all looked like utter dogshit during Elbaf? The East Blue 5 get kidnapped by Road, Luffy looks like a punk to Gaban, and now four of them, including an Ex-Warlord, have been captured.
I have no faith Robin can even hurt Sommers at all. Shit, can Luffy even beat Gunko at this stage? Probably not.
It's kind of funny that in both fandoms in Japan and the West that it's called Wano...when it's actually "Wa no" as in a old, antiquated term for Japan, Wa no Kuni. "Land of Harmony".
Random thought, but what if one of the founders of the Cross Guild was Marco and the WB Remnants? After all, they would have plenty of reason to want to hunt Marines.
Potentially controversial opinion/theory: Imu was not the Earth God/Hellfire Serpent from the First World or anything like that.
I think whatever his power is, he waited for the other kings to get old and weak, then took it for himself, which revitalized him and he then went on to usurp the WG and ruled from the shadows.
In other words, he is a scheming opportunist....just like Blackbeard.
