When at the start of Bayou Ouki comes back to the battlefield and we get the other states' reaction, Chu's king calls him "that damned monster bird" and near the arc's end, Gika says that out of the six states there is not a single one which has not suffered at Ouki's hands and not a single person who does not loathe him.
Nah for real, will Hara actually completely go overboard with the power level of Kouen's vassals? Stuff like "each one of them would be a powerful Great General in one of the main states"?
And honestly, all this talk should be extended to Chu in general. Lol.
I'm honestly already confident about Shibashou being above some Qin Generals of the old generation (above Fodderkotsu for certain, likey better than Kyou too, probably overall better than Duke Hyou) and the man hasn't even done anything.
What do you guys think of Great General Reiou of the Fire Dragons? Like if we look at the way he was hyped, he looks very impressive:
- He was a ruthless tactician that even Gokei feared.
- Tou retreated against him, saying that doing otherwise would be playing into Reiou's hands.
- Given that Ranbihaku clashed with Ouki and Kyou, Reiou must have fought them.
If we are to take Genpou's hype literally, him being a mind on a level where he was capable of being the head of Zhao's entire military literally gives him top tier Great General portrayal lol.
There are extremely well known Great Generals who would never be selected to lead the entire military system of a country.
I don't think it's a concidence that Hara had Kanki take him out. ONLY Kanki could have ever...
God fucking damn, Greatjon Umber is a freaking monster in the books. He is as tall as Hodor (7 feet) but twice as large, he comes up in Jaime's thoughts when he lists a scant few fighters who are stronger than him (physically), and at the Red Wedding he literally drinks so much wine to kill three men, he's utterly drunk and yet EIGHT man are needed to restrain him - in that state he had literally taken the sword...
Honestly, even if the Qin center is wildly weakened at the moment thanks to Riboku's plan...Ousen is still fucking Ousen. Shibashou must truly be a beast of some special kind for Riboku to have decided to put him there, in that role.
Riboku checkmating Qin's entire plan on Northern Zhao - outplaying Ousen and Shouheikun, wiping out Kanki's army and despite Kanki's own brilliant (although situational) performance, killing one of the Qin Six - on the whole, it was a shocking performance.
At Chouhei, all Renpa's wall could do was keep at bay two of the Qin Six and turn the whole thing into a prolonged stalemate.
I'm really disappointed that Ordo is mediocre as he is.
Conceptually, he's one of the coolest generals in the manga. Someone from the plains who conquered 50 mountain tribes and became their King, an expert in mountain warfare.... too bad he's so scrubby
I had made the following post under @FutureWarrior123 profile short ago but I'll do it here again, tagging a few more folks and see what y'all think. So:
Given Hara's portrayal of and statements on Shouheikun's ludicrous ability, are we meant to view his talent as being overall > each member of the old Qin Six/Three Great Heavens? (In the manga).
Rinshoujo is one of those figures who Hara vehemently hyped and from whom we'll almost certainly never see a full fledged battle performance (sadly lol).
In the two instances where he was shown leading, Hara had this man move Ouki like he wanted and he seemed in complete control of the battle; in the other, RSJ was again making both foes and allies (Renpa) dancing to his tune.
Casual reminder that to this day, after hundreds of chapters and us having seen plenty of top tier generals, Hara still refuses to show Tou's true power.
I'm very scared for whoever Hara will pick as the foe against whom Tou will unleash.
We had talked about this scenario a few times but man imagine if Hara really does give Riboku such a WILD respect that he outright refuses to have him meet his end on the battlefield and has him removed by his own state instead at the end (with then Zhao falling).
It'd be freaking insane, a foe's treatment completely unheard of.
My prediction: Shibashou is a top tier instinctual general. Duke Hyou's instics were linked to a lion, Keisha's were linked to a spider, for Shibashou we'll have the tiger.
He must be a true monster for Riboku to have decided put him in front of Ousen. Insticts 99, outstanding officers, martially as strong as Man'U. Him being instinctual not only will be a problem for Ousen, this time it might also completely...
