I just reread the War Elephants chapter, and man. Karin is so busted. Don’t know how I missed her strength on my first readthrough. Those War elephants reminded me of Genpou’s sound prison or Gokei’s war chariots, just a completely busted tactic that you really can’t fight.
And that tactic was just a distraction and not even Karin’s man attack.
The only two actual epithets that we've gotten in Kingdom with generals being associated with an animal in their title, are "Qin's Monster Bird" and "Tiger of Chu". I wonder if Hara is cooking something here lol.
And "Monster Bird" had a specific meaning. It referred to Ouki's crazy mobility & ferocity. He materialized anywhere and laid waste to his opponents.
So "Tiger" might also indicate something peculiar.
Karin is portrayed as a strategical/tactical freak, she is gonna beat (almost) anybody through those but imma be honest: I think that directly searching for a duel with her would be a horrible idea for the vast majority of the fighters we've seen so far.
The vibe she gives off in her design and demeanour makes me think that she can rock the living shit out of someone in a 1v1. Lol.
Batei's skills as a general actually deserve more credit. I had been rereading the Kokuyou arc and he tactically outmanouvered the Hi Shi unit and Karyo Ten like 2-3 times through it, lol.
Yeah he ain't gonna beat folks like Gyou’Un or Chouugaryuu but he is a solid commander.
I happened to watch ep 1093 of One Piece today (new ep) and it was phenomenally made. GOATbeard vs Law, and Aokiji attacking Whole Cake was SICK as fuck. For real.
I was rereading the Yotanwa vs SSJ match and man, praise to Heki. He is not as talented as others but his army through foundamentals was killing and pushing back the Quanrong and even broke through them to reach the HQ of one of their commanders.
At one particular point he was the one straight up performing the best against them, out of the entire Yotanwa army.
About Lee's theory on Shibashou joining Ousen: while it could potentially make a lot of sense...but man I'd be very concerned about the prospect of big Shiba facing EOS Shin or Ouhon. By that point they will have taken down multiple Great Generals and they will have utterly collapsed the other main states. They'll pretty much be considered the best ones with Ousen.
It would have been interesting to see if Mougou had faced Rinshoujo instead of Renpa at Sanyou. How the battle would have evolved, what kind of crazyness Hara would have pulled out for this guy.
Also, Rinshoujo's army had Gyou’Un + Chouugaryuu + EIGHT other Generals. That is nuts. I don't know precisely how they would compare overall with Renpa's combination of Four Heavenly Kings but yeah it seems insane. Lol.
When at the start of Bayou Ouki comes back to the battlefield and we get the other states' reaction, Chu's king calls him "that damned monster bird" and near the arc's end, Gika says that out of the six states there is not a single one which has not suffered at Ouki's hands and not a single person who does not loathe him.
Nah for real, will Hara actually completely go overboard with the power level of Kouen's vassals? Stuff like "each one of them would be a powerful Great General in one of the main states"?
And honestly, all this talk should be extended to Chu in general. Lol.
I'm honestly already confident about Shibashou being above some Qin Generals of the old generation (above Fodderkotsu for certain, likey better than Kyou too, probably overall better than Duke Hyou) and the man hasn't even done anything.
What do you guys think of Great General Reiou of the Fire Dragons? Like if we look at the way he was hyped, he looks very impressive:
- He was a ruthless tactician that even Gokei feared.
- Tou retreated against him, saying that doing otherwise would be playing into Reiou's hands.
- Given that Ranbihaku clashed with Ouki and Kyou, Reiou must have fought them.
