I said his dumbness/selfishness barely affects the story, not his actions/decisions in general. His flaws are there for comedy value mostly.
I'm not countin things like him punching a CD cause that's not meant to portray his flaws but his qualities.
5k on a dress for a party but that was back when my parents paid for my stuff. Could never afford such expensive clothes now.
With my own money, it's prob a dress I bought for a wedding, around $800.
What's a "mary sue"? A char that's too perfect? Then Luffy's the best example. He may be flawed on paper cause he's dumb and selfish but those aren't real flaws if they don't rly affect the story. They're only there to make him funnier and more entertaining.
Shanks not havin flaws doesn't mean...
A better question would be whom he connects the least with, to which the answer's prob Robin.
- has a lot of goofy moments with Usopp, Chopper, Franky and Brook
- can relate to Zoro, Sanji and Jinbe in serious moments when facing strong foes
- has a siblinglike relationship with Nami and she's...
From a story standpoint, I feel like it rly became hard for Oda to handle the crew and properly use every one of them after Brook joined. But a pirate crew w/o a musician doesn't feel like a real pirate crew and Luffy already wanted to recruit a musician back in East Blue. Jinbe's nice and all...
Dunno. In a way, that'd be a cool plot twist but at the same time, we'd have to wonder why such strong chars are just sittin on their ass 24/7 if their strength can have such an impact on the story.
