Actually no, there is not “black lighting tails following oden’s sword”… you’re talking about that thing that was in Roger and Whitebeard’s clash right? Nope… That never happened once on Oden
as far as we can tell, there is NO visible indicator that Oden has AdvCoC… this chapter of Oden vs Kaido was chapter 970. It wasn’t until Chapter 1010 when Zoro scarred Kaido that people went back and started saying Oden also had AdvCoC… Because when Zoro scarred Kaido that’s when it was clear that AdvCoC was necessary to do it
so actually, not only are there no “trails” your answer is also different from @Salah WG who also believed that Haki is very clear to understand… makes you wonder why both of you guys who think Haki is clear and understandable have different answers to this page

AdvCOA can hurt Kaido but it’s repeated BOTH by Kaido and Luffy that it can’t do more than superficial damage…
below is a breakdown of Kaido and Luffy describing the difference between AdvCoA and AdvCoC when used on them (note, basic COA can’t do anything at all)
So you see @trav it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that what Oden is doing is similar to what the scabbards are doing
I haven’t even brought up Zoro here yet and gone into the the fact that we have a direct demonstration of Zoro using AdvCoA and then AdvCoC on Kaido and there is once again a Avery distinct difference between what Zoro did in both cases

when the scabbards first ambush Kaido, Kaido literally says “Your swords won’t even be able to damage me” and only got surprised that they could damage him with what he called “Oden’s Ryuo”
are you implying that Kaido has been a pirate for 40+ years and he didn’t know that basic COA could damage him? After 40+ as a pirate, he was surprised that the scabbards had Basic COA that could damage him?
And at the end ODA MAKES SURE KAIDO AND LUFFY AGREE ON WHAT CAN OR CANT REALLY DAMAGE HIM
ODA HAS BOTH KAIDO AND LUFFY CALL EVERYTHING THAT THE SCABBARDS AND LUFFY WERE DOING BEFORE ADVCOC TOO SHALLOW

you claiming that Scabbard Basic COA is somehow unique to Luffy’s is literal nonsense. Not only does Hyogoro, a master of AdvCoA agree with Luffy as well that AdvCoA is required to start damaging Kaido… Kaido also starts agreeing with Luffy that not even AdvCoA can do real damage and you need AdvCoC to actually do serious damage to Kaido

Lol. The simplest explanation to all of this is that concepts in One Piece dont exist before they are actually introduced or the Author retcons it.
Example 1: Mantra in Skypiea and what is later called Observation Haki
Example 2: Original armament haki (i.e. the air push) vs. Black Hardening, then in Wano, the air push being retconned to stage 2 Ryou
Example 3: Luffy/Doffy's conquerors clash among others. It is CoA with CoC users clashing. Now we have AdCoC where the imbuement is literally Conquerors along with Armament
Its better to assume that before these concepts, they dont "exist" as examples unless Oda directly explains them (i.e. Shanks using Conquerors for the first time, but its not called Conquerors until way later).
I.e. example 3 is simple because is just CoA clashing with Conqueror users. It will always be this because AdCoC didnt exist yet and Oda has never tried to retcon anything (nor would it make sense)
