Questions & Mysteries Are Kaido and BM dead?

Big Mom isn’t debatable at all, she was in the magma pool longer than Kaidou she’s already been losing all of her fat

She’s never coming back :crybeard:

Kaido is alive, and the fate of Pluton's plot rests on his shoulders now, as he is in Wano for precisely that reason. :steef:
Oden mentioned that Wano should open its borders before Joyboy's return, or Joyboy should have been the one to do it. However, Luffy has shown that he doesn't want the ancient weapons, nor has he opened Wano's borders. Momo doesn't have the capability to do it, and Kaido will re-emerge from his source understanding everything and will connect the dots.

Kaido I don't think is dead just off his flaming drum dragon I think he can take lava just fine.
But bm idk.
What do yall think?
His zoan disactivated when he got knocked out, unless he can breath lava, he's dead, mort, cadaverised, meurte, on to the great beyond. The story's moving on. Kaido's a footnote so that Admirals, Shanks and blackbeard can say;

"oh, you're not half bad, I can see how you defeated Kaido of the hearsay"

Kaido is still alive but not for long. SKK (Shiryu kills Kaido) is still on track. Shiryu will slay the dragon, and feed the DF to Raiu. Zoro will have to defeat him to take back Ryuma's legacy.

Only BM has a chance to come back because of Elbalf.

But they better be both dead, those two already took too much story time, the Yonko saga is over, we are in the PK race

"Dead" or not may not matter. Just gone might be the better question. I personally argue that Oda gets nowhere bringing them back since we just spent literally hundreds of chapters getting rid of them.

Though I guess if Rocks is actually super important to the plot (in Elbaf or after), then I guess it makes sense to bring them back. Idk in what capacity though. Every relevant OP villain is still technically around so maybe they arent dead.

I really don't think Kaido has much to offer if he comes back. He was a fitting opponent for Luffy to finally prevail against and assert himself as a top-tier and Kaido proved his worth as World's Strongest Creature by taking on such a gauntlet and giving G5 a good fight. Passed Wano, he doesn't seem necessary. Especially since he would get up in Wano without Luffy and co around, would be kinda weird for him to immediately leave without causing trouble since that was his base of operations.

With Big Mom however, Oda could definitely still use her as an antagonist in Elbalf. She's a top-tier so giving Luffy a fitting fight works and she still has her reasons to head to Elbalf. Plus her falling in Wano is kinda disappointing, especially since she never faced Luffy when he was an Emperor or becoming one.

Ultimately, chances are they're dead but if not, Big Mom atleast has some potential as an antagonist for one last arc. Kaido seems pretty finished.

The characters having nothing else to offer would be a good justification in a story other than One Piece, how many characters have survived for no good narrative reason so far?
