tho with zoro's specialty
it might be coa
perhaps roger and shanks arent exactly gods at it
moreso coc
but armament is where he stands out
we have to see in either case
little reason to think shanks armament isnt good either
rayleigh as well
and surely oden
it might be a combination of all three and perhaps others werent willing to do it . someone like mihawk considers a nick of his blade as shameful
do the others care that much or fight that way
prob not
so why does zoro?
well he was taught by someone who does lol
So I was thinking since a long time why only two people from the entire history of One Piece verse have black blade. Why them only ? It's even more weird because they are related to Zoro. But i will talk about that after.
I was reading @KiriNigiri recent thread and one page strike me again after the last chapter 1010.
This one :
Zoro was saying "Do you means its black color came from ....", everyone knows he was gonna say by haki. But which one specially ?
As i said only two Ryuma the previous strongest and now Mihawk WSS have it. Two who are connected with some common things : strongest, legend, etc.
We all know everyone in One Piece have COA and COO, so it's really weird only two managed to reach that lvl if black blade is next lvl of COA. So basically no one else didn't try to push their COA lvl ??
But now let's say if Kokuto (black blade) actually is forged by COC ? Then it makes sense because Ryuma and Mihawk could be a COC users. And coincidentally, we know Zoro has COC now. Could it be ?
Only 1 in a million has the COC so it's maybe the answer why randoms people can't make a black blade because they need first the COC + as Kaido said : "Only the very strongest can use CoC with their attacks". That means only few people can do that and also few can transform their weapon into Kokuto (black blade). The amount of time that Ryuma and Mihawk used COC with their attacks were maybe completely insane that's why their weapons became a black blade at some point.
Kaido and Luffy used COC with their attacks so we can see again black lightning. Always the same pattern.
For me, the fact Black Blade needs COC make sense at 100%. It's a rare feat that only COC users can achieve.
If Zoro kills Kaido, he may use his COC into his sword and transform it to black blade to cut entirely Kaido's skin.
Only two people made a permanent scar to Kaido and they are Zoro and Oden, again two COC users. Zoro unconsciously used his COC in his last attack that Kaido detected as Haoshoku and reached the feat of Oden. So COC helped them to achieved that feat.
That's why I am more and more convinced to say COC is necessary for Black Blade.
Black blade come from true enlightment, remember haki is spirit and only an enlightend master of Haki can forge his blade into black blade.
Ryuma and Mihawk are enlightend masters of Haki, this why Ryuma and Mihawk have heavy religious theme ('Sword God' / the christian cross) Zoro will achive black blade only when he become enlightend himself and he'll get his own godly power (Asura) than he'll a true master of Haki.
The reason why people like WB, Shanks, Roger, Fujitora etc don't have black blade is because they aren't enlightend, after all many people search their whole life for enlightment and don't achive it (what Don Le Fishe believe happen to Fujitora, the one who blinded himself because he saw so much 'ugly' in the world) only rare few can achive enlightend and they just didn't made the cut, Zoro however will get enlightend because he's the Geandmaster 😏. @Roronoa-sama@ShishioIsBack@nik87@imacub@Extravlad

Your post may be closer to the truth than you realize.
Zoro seems to be mastering the 6 realms/paths of rebirth and existence.
So far he has shown a connection to 4 of them, the two are still missing.
Once he masters all 6 it could result in the ability to forge Kokutos.
There are 3 upper realms and 3 lower realms, Zoro is missing one from each.
God realm from upper realms and hell realm from lower realms.
Demi-god, human, animal and hungry ghost have already appeared.
There is also a possible hint through his new attack - Crossing of the Six Paths.
Mastering the 6 realms is what you call enlightenment.
Also, notice the moon that symbolizes liberation.
Our boi Zorojuro has many connections to the moon.

The concept of the black blade is to me like the equivalent of a self realization, a self accomplishment. The mark that sets Zoro as finally having attained the alleged last step to be defined as a top swordsman. If on top of this his overall stats will be pushed as far as he can, he may indeed become the strongest swordsman of all times.
Would Oda allow someone else to be stronger than Zoro out of all eras if he will not be weaker than EoS Luffy? The answer is probably not. Unless a God Tier system is introduced and even then not a guarantee at all.

The functionality of CoC doesn't fit. That's the issue here. CoC can be used to dominate the Wills of others, and for external coating to allow for attacks to penetrate much deeper into the body. Nothing about it fits with turning a Blade permanently black.
CoA on the other hand screams making a Blade Black. The rarity is even explainable when you add Haki specialties to the mix, because anyone can unlock CoA, but not everyone specializes in it.
Yet we have a whole country of samurais that specialize in it. So why hasn't anyone in over 500 years(since Ryuma's times) managed to Perma blackened their swords in Wano?
Hasn't CoA already started becoming pointless with the reveal of adv CoC? I mean Adv CoC does what CoA does but better.

Hmm there's fair hope for ACoA to be imbued with ACoC to augment its potency. After all it would make sense if Zoro himself was capable to still use his CoA whilst in Asura mode, just for example. And Asura seems to most likely constitute CoC.
