General & Others Does Anyone Else Find It Extremely Bizzare That We Never Saw An Interaction Between BM/Kaido And The Other Great Powers?

#21
Kaido and BM were the filler Yonko created to make the story longer and/or for Oda to write/draw all the arcs and characters he wanted. They were never meant to be in the big picture.

This, although we would still need at least a Wano arc, as it was alluded a long time ago, + a few more arcs for the New World to make sense. They would be probably much shorter arcs though.
Yes,i imagine a Doflamingo/Law arc anyway,a Zou arc as it is connected to Roger, and a shorter Wano arc anyway in an "idealistic One Piece". But with probably some elements from future arc like a earlier Vegapunk reveal for example, already during the Doflamingo/Law arc, instead of having Cesar.

Originally the yonkos were meant to be the final villains though. Saying they are filler is same as saying 10 years of one piece is filler.
It's true, but they would be probably some of the Shichibukai (or maybe other kinds of characters, as it's been hinted that a warrior from Elbaf and a Wano samurai would be among the Yonko), not the Yonko we have today. I never saw even a glimpse of them in Oda's old sketches, but many of the ones we know as Shichibukai today have been planned very early.

The Yonko

The Shichibukai (Mihawk, DoFlamingo and Moria)

I think Oda had in mind the concept of Yonko but not who the Yonko were. So maybe they would have been Shanks,Crocodile,Doflamingo, and Hancock or Mihawk, for example.

I know Oda has known how he would end the story from the beginning, but where are you getting this information from? I believe there is more pointing to Blackbeard being the final villain of the series than the previous Yonko.

Mihawk (chapter 49) and Jinbe (chapter 69) were name dropped as Shikibukai pretty early into the series.

True, but maybe at that point he already changed his idea. Or maybe he had in mind someone from Elbaf or someone from Wano as Yonko.
Its interesting the fact that Kaido and Big Mom started to be introduced around the same period, right at the end of Enies Lobby, and in Thriller Bark.

It's in the 1999 Jump cover I posted above (Weekly Shonen Jump #1544 - No. 24, 1999 Issue). It's a teaser for the 4 villains of the Grand Line. (Not sure if they were planned to be the final villains, but they would be among the greatest antagonists.)

Edit: It's actually Weekly Shonen Jump #1557 - No. 37-38, 1999 Issue. Released on August 23, 1999.

Doesn't change the fact yonkos were meant to FVs at one point though. So they are clearly not filler.

Maybe they weren't using observation haki
Isn’t Fuji always using CoO because he’s blind? Imo Oda just hadn’t decided how strong he wanted YCs to be compared to top tiers. He probably didn’t decide to make them a neg diff for top tiers until the start of Wano, which is why Teach’s original bounty was a mere 2.2B before he got a bounty raise for doing nothing
