Ace fought Jinbei for 5 days, same as Jack vs Inu/Neko. So Ace at least has ancient zoan stamina. While Marco got dusted after fighting Big Mom, King and Queen for a few hours.
Ace then fought Yamato to a standstill and I put Yamato above King. Even if King's fire is more potent than Ace, King can't risk taking Entei head-on which requires Teach's Yami strongest attack to absorb it. And Ace can do internal damage as well.

Jinbe was Mid to High Veteran at best when that fight happened.
We know for a fact how retarded Ace was in terms of his fighting improvement, he relied on his DF only and didn't even awaken it and forgot to polish his Haki skills.
His Haki was probably comparable to Smoker's who's a fodder himself with weaker incarnation of the Mera Fruit.

Augur stated that Ace was pretty good even without his DF. He even emphasizes on how devil fruit users would be useless and weak without their DF but not the case with Ace here.
You can still be DF reliant and still be strong without strong haki. Look at Whitebeard, Marco and Admirals for example.

If Ace's Haki was strong enough his DF wouldn't matter case he would block/stop or minimalize the damage from Akainu's fist.

Because df user becomes weak he struggles to use haki. Sea stone doesn't negate haki at all but only makes user weak and negate df abilities.
