I disagree with this entirely given the facts we have seen from Fujitora in Dressrosa with Luffy. Let alone his hatred towards what the WG is doing, and above all, ow he doesn't care about Akainu's orders.
If anything, Mihawk fighting Zoro will be purely for proving who's better swordsman. While Fujitora vs Zoro will end up making Fujitora letting Zoro win because he wants the SH to win the war against the WG and he's only fighting Zoro because of duty while he doesn't want to. It will only make Zoro's long-cherished dream achievement worth grabage if that happened with all respect.
Zoro does NOT need to fight mihawk as an enemy. That's what people do not understand. Oda can do it without having Mihawk being a villain. and still both can go out. As an example, me without being as good of a writer as oda, I can create such scenario by saying "after Luffy finds One Piece, and after he learns about the truth of the void century, and while SHs are preparing for the final battle against WG, and while Luffy trains on the side, Sanji is doing his own thing, Franky is building ships to invade, just like all of them are preparing and doing their own thing, Zoro will go off on his own to Mihawk to fight him for the title, which will end up not only making Zoro achieve his dream in the right and perfect time, but also his fight with Mihawk will surely elevate his level to a much greater point to be of much more help for SHs against the WG"
Like I said, that is a very easy writing from a very weak writer like me, oda can do even waaaaaay better.

They can twist it however they want. The truth of the matter is Shanks was an equal rival to Mihawk when Shanks was a YONKO before losing his hands. After losing one of his hands, Mihawk feels it's not worth anymore, and as of now, he's waiting for someone to appear and surpass Shanks to finally pose a challenge!

Shanks can knock out fodders with his haki however, he wants, he can make a dent on WB ship with haki which other characters did more LOL, he can become more handsome with his scar however he wants, truth of the matter is, the serial of events is:
1- Mihawk became infamous BEFORE Roger execution (shanks was still a youngster back then)
2- Mihawk then became worlds strongest swordsman.
3- Shanks grew in strength, and became a rival to Mihawk and continued to have legendary duels that WB calls them legendary with his own mouth, and they continued to do so while Shanks being a Yonko
4- Shanks lost his arm (which means in the grandscheme of things, Shanks's power level didn't drop a lot, but when it comes to an equal rival like Mihawk, it makes a HUUUUGE difference)
5- Mihawk lost interest in him
6- Mihawk is looking now for someone better than Shanks (Zoro in future)
No matter how people want to spin it. that's the matter of things
I would laugh my ass off if by the time Luffy meets Shanks. And when Shanks is preparing to fight Luffy as both promised. Luffy basically says "who said that I will fight you?"
Because Luffy's promise was "I will gather a crew that will beat you". So basically, Luffy could have had a different meaning in that the crew alone excluding him will beat them Bwahahaha. I would laugh my ass off if it ended with:
1- Zoro vs Shanks
2- Sanji vs Beckmann
While Luffy fights Lucky Roo over his meat on the sideline watching the fights hahahaha

Databooks said that Mihawk and Vista have similar level of swordsmanship but Vista could not compete with Mihawk, meaning that it is not the swordsmanship that plays the only role in it. Fujitora, a df user, was called a blind swordsman, meaning that even using a df does not disqualify one from being a swordsman, Shiryu the same. Kuina, whose dream was to be the wss herself stated that her body is too weak, meaning that even if she were more skillful than Mihawk she would not be stronger. Finally, Mihawk's title is the world's strongest swordsman, not the world's most proficient sword user or the sort.
