Center Front:
Shiryou and Batei are fighting evenly and both sides are surprised their side isn't winning one sidedly. Souou is pushing forward and sees that Riboku is still at his HQ and wonders why he hasn't retreated yet and deduces something interesting must be happening at the HSU location. Ousen reaches Denrimi and says Bananji's army is still following them. Denrimi tells Ousen that Riboku hasn't retreated yet because he must be observing the HSU to the right for some reason. Ousen goes "hoh"

Riboku HQ:
The Qin are right at the HQ's doorsteps and the Zhao soldiers keep yelling at Riboku and co to retreat, but they're too immersed into watching the fight between Shin and Houken. Riboku says that what Houken is facing right now is a strength that Houken cannot comprehend.

Paraphrased dialogue:
Riboku - The bushin Houken came down from the mountain to test the strength he has achieved on his own. But 17 years ago he faced a different strength.

Kaine - 17 years ago...Ouki...

Riboku - After his defeat Houken lost confidence in himself. He couldn't comprehend how he could have lost. However, 8 years ago Houken still wasn't able to beat Ouki with his own strength. After seeing these events unfold I believe Houken, even if he reached the peak of martial prowess on his own, would have lost to Ouki 17 years ago.

Soldier - But...isn't that statement kind of contradictory?

Riboku - That contradiction could very well be the "answer." (In fact, Duke Hyou understood that as well)

Duke Hyou - You are just a gigantic buffoon who has yet to realise the huge contradiction within yourself, and continues to agonise over it all alone.

Shin and Houken continues to trade blows.

Riboku - Houken, a man who has reached the peak of martial prowess with his own strength, and on the opposite side is a strength that comes from carrying the weight of others who came before.

No break next week!

Ousen goes "hoh"
Hoh

@Owl Ki once again it's been said that our great Ouki sama is the strongest in this series. :myman:

Shin is currently the strongest person in the Qin's army right now (in this arc) and that's for sure. In the beginning of the arc he was struggling due incompatibility with the Ouki's glaive but after getting used to it, he's showing his unreal raw strength and martial skills. This all when he isn't in perfect condition as well pr more accurately its worse than Sai.

Shin is shocking the hell out of me right now lol. He's legitimately matching Houken in every clash that they have for the most part and striking back whenever Houken gets a direct attack on him. He just might actually kill him here.

Batei btw gotta be the most disappointing person in this series if not one of the most disappointing lol.

I feel surprised after seeing how Shin managed to fight on par with enraged Houken. if Shin would be this strong after the current campaign, how mighty would be Tiger Of Chu / Chu's 1st in command ? we know that Shin is representing the people against Houken who's handicapped by his own believes, imagine someone else with an equal weight as Ouki who's also representing the same thing going against Qin ? Hara opened the way for people who can be bigger threats than Houken in the future upcoming campaigns.

The best thing so far from the previous 2-3 chapters is that Hara made it impossible to know whether Riboku and Houken could survive the current war or not. the decisive moment is approaching.

So the ''weigth of the general'' is something like protecting your Friends and Family? Friendship power?! WOW! How ''surprising'' lol...it's so stereotypical...
Being a General and Fighting for something and also protecting your friend and Family, always pointed in that direction, but i was hoping it was nothing like that...
But isn't Houken ''carrying the weight'' of the whole humanity? He isn't doing it out of a sellfish desire, he wants to stop wars - which would lead in saving alot of peoples lives. But he isn't getting a strengthboost out of nowhere…?:kayneshrug:

Looking at the fight:
Ouki who everybody should agree with, is stronger than the current Shin. Ouki stil struggled against Houken.
Now Shin is basically more than half dead and is in a wayyyy worse condition than Houken, but he can match him and even overpower him?! So Shin is already at Ouki's level? And based on his condition even above him???? It doesn't make sense.

Soldier - But...isn't that statement kind of contradictory?
Even the People in the manga say it's bs...

I’ve been saying for a while now, Shin is GG Level as a fighter, and y’all had best accept that fact lol. Quite frankly, fresh Shin should be going blow for blow with Houken and Moubu.

Shin will slay Houken this arc, I’ll bet on that lol.
Yo Major, if you remember than i was saying this before too on discord. Shin is strongest one on this campaign for Qin. Lol

Against GyouUn, he wasn't able to handle his glaive perfectly which is why he was tanking hits there only but right now he's quite useful to it. Sadly he's not 100% right now otherwise this fight would be most epic one in the whole series, just like Ouki vs Houken at Bayou.

After this campaign, he's going to stand in the same league as Moubu and Tou in Qin's army.
