Q: Will Shin keep Kan Ki's pendant and be appointed to the Six Great Generals after the Zhao Retaliation Arc?

Options:
A) Shin will keep the pendant AND become a Six Great General
B) Shin will keep the pendant but WON'T be appointed a Six Great General
C) Shin will NEITHER keep the pendant NOR become a Six Great General
D) Shin will return the pendant AND be appointed a Six Great General

Shin will give it back to Sei. He won't become a member yet - Qin just ate a huge L afterall.

I agree. I'm thinking B or C, but perhaps Ei Sei takes it back for safekeeping for when Shin is ready (whether he tells him or not), or Shin will get that pendant anyway as the new Fifth Great replacing Kan Ki - assuming he will be the first newly minted Six Great General.

Regardless of what happens, I believe it's far too soon for Shin to become a Six Great General. This arc has proven he's much further along as an Instinctual Type than I had thought, but the fact remains he's only been a general for about two years and hasn't had much experience leading on his own yet. It'd be cool to see the Q3 lead solo campaigns as generals in the not too distant future, but I'm not anticipating it after this arc or the next - perhaps not until Zhao itself falls.

That said, despite the fact I think it's too early for Shin to become a 6GG or even a regular GG, I do believe the Q3 will be given more responsibility and command of greater numbers very soon. I think it's very possible and probable they will each absorb a good chunk of the 120K troops stationed at Tai Gen as there probably isn't enough time to hold lengthy recruitment processes before the next campaign.

On a side note: I was going to argue Shin has yet to lead a campaign or command tens of thousands of men in battle at all but neither is necessarily true.

At Shukai, Shin took command of what was essentially a semi-autonomous Right Wing. There is also an argument - though not the strongest, I admit - he took command of the campaign after escaping Gishi Plains when he set the agenda on using the Kan Ki Army's Siege Unit to seize Gian in Kan Ki's absence and without his leave.

While he has deferred to Mou Ten, I think it's fair to say Shin has taken more of a leadership role in their partnership this arc. Of course, it helps Shin saved his life and army, but Mou Ten has followed his lead because he's obviously smart enough to recognise Shin has the stronger army and his instincts have been on a roll since he shared he sensed something was off at their meeting. Even if you grant Shin both of these points, I don't think it's enough experience to be pushed up all the way to Six Great General though.

And having said that, another point came to mind: the Q3 are a) talented ass motherfuckers and b) frighteningly compatible. I don't think it's hyperbolic to suggest their three armies combined at their peaks as Six Great Generals will be rivalled by few if any other combinations of three generals. Just consider Sanyou: when the fledgling Q3 worked together to take down Rin Ko. Four Heavenly Kings Rin Ko. The Flying Spear of the great Ren Pa. That dude. I don't think Rin Ko's core 500-Man cavalry was necessarily a match for Gyou'us Rai'un, but it is nevertheless impressive the Q3 combined forces as they did to essentially neuter Rin Ko's offensive potential and carve out an opportunity to take his head.

I don't if it's possible to have had more respect for the feat at the time than now when considering the greater of context of Kingdom.

Consider Wei Fire Dragons when Ou Hon and Shin punched way above their weights against Wei's Great Generals.

Consider how Shin and Mou Ten revived the left wing at Shukai, and then again on the right wing. Nuts.

Lazy is the way
JKR is strong but Zenou was pretty much dead there guys lol.

Maybe JKR could have defeated a healthy Zenou in a 1vs1 match via a combination of skills+strenght but I kinda doubt it tbh. This guy was an absolute animal.
Oh yeah Zenou was on his last leg, but JKR is a beast and is quite efficient, his killing count is already quite high

Seems like JKR wants that strongest spot back again. Dude's out here collecting heads.
:kobeha:

Anyways even though my two fav Kanki army members just died i must say that i like named officers going down, but Kaine REALLY shouldn't survive this. Hopefully Futei dies too because nobody cares for Bananji's brat and he's pretty damn annoying as of late.

Shin action ? Time for Seika's strongest warrior to put him in his place.

Yep guys, Ma Ron and Ogi Ko will be part of HSA.

JKR is a beast dude, even in his old state he can block and repel Zenou strikes.

My Fav from kan Ki Army's is dead.

I never mind that woman, she Wasn't that big of character.

Yep, guys is happening my first theory of a duel.

Shin vs Bananji, since Shukai Plains.
Post automatically merged:

Riboku personal strongest General, Bananji vs 30K General Shin.

Will happens in the final Zhao invasion.

I wonder how Kanki is going to face his death. He doesn't seem to be afraid.

It seems like Shin is going to have more soldiers from Kanki if they are willing to follow him.
The Saki clan could be helpful from a medical point of view and Maron could be a good advisor/strategist to add to his lieutenants. He did have some losses in this arc, so he needs something in return for his army to keep growing in strength

Interesting to know how they will manage to retreat, I think Bananji is positioned somewhere to avoid that possibility. Shin vs Bananji or another SBS generals might be a good fight, I doubt he will kill him though, it doesn't seem like RBK is going to lose a single member of his personal guard nor is SBS generals going to get killed or even injured anymore at this point of the arc.

It's been some time since I was caught up. What is the current status of the arc? Is it meant to be a long one or interim one?

I pretty much caught up and stopped reading when this arc started I think.

With Kanki defeated (and "resigning" from the Qin Six spot), the Qin army destroyed...Qin ultimately really has taken a huge ass L.

Regarding Shibashou, I could well see him getting his first appearence against the likes of Ousen/Yotanwa and getting his main hype showings there as this new huge entity, perhaps blocking a new Qin offensive etc.
There's ample space for us to see his feats/proper on panel showings, fucking shit up.
Historically, Shibashou defends Zhao alongside with Riboku until the latter is executed, with Shibashou getting dismissed.
