Actually, French tend to be progressive. Only some medias and the politics class are far right. We have a strong left contrary to US-citizens.

Fact is, almost half of murica is pro trump and pro GOP. They will NEVER change. In the other half, there's like maybe 25% people as hardcore as those on the right. So GOP will ALWAYS, ALWAYS have at least half the country with them, regardless of any issues or problems.
Where as the Dems have to work to get the other half. And by work i mean they have to pray for miracles. A black female candidate was never gonna make it.

Nah voting for lesser evil is still support in some way, Reborn is right on that one.
The two-party system of the US perpetuates this kind of voting behaviour more than in european countries tho, at least for the around half of the country who are not staunch republicans, Libertarians and so on and that half is ideologically way more split than the other half.

I have voted 3 times for the opposition in order to prevent fascism to rise. This is what voting for your ideas and stopping the far right means. And trust me, at no point I was a support but rather the opposite. In fact, because of this, we permitted the real left to rise contrary to many country like the US.
But to understand that, you need to have made that choice once already.
The problem of the US, while being the system first, is also the lack of a strong left and the depoliticization of the citizens. Until you guyz really start to organize in the streets and associations, you will always be defeated.
