Most societies evolved enough to not have to resort to this.A 1000 years ago this could be debatable,because a unwanted kid could mean famine.Not anymore.Most countries are developed enough to afford feeding an extra mouth or two.There are piss poor people in Brazil that have dozens of kids(yeah,i know its one of the reason why they are poor).
