They are both bad is a weird take.
One is a terrorist radical party born from 60 years of racial oppressione with flebile political connection and bad financing. They have been responsible of terror attacks and on the Palestinian side are the ones opposing the two state solution
The other is an oppressivo quasi-theocracy that is currently invading 3 of their neighbours, responsible of genocide of civilians on a scale with no comparison in modern times and that has an history of 60 years of documented and proved oppression not only in Palestine but also on the west bank. All of this while being financed, allies with the entire Western world and among the most technological advanced armies in the world.
Apples and oranges.
One side being worse doesnt magically make the other side any less bad

They are lying on many related subjects and pretending that if you criticize Israel you must like Hamas.
Speak out against Israel, people swoop in to claim you support terrorists.

This is literally in the post you replied to.

This is just personal morals and preferences. Some people don't agree with blowing people up in general.

I have not written down one thing related to morals though. I stated a list of facts, with the semi-theocracy being the only really biased statement.
If you allow a comparison, is like saying that the IRA and the British were both bad and wrong.
They were, but the difference between the two is clear.
Another comparison, both nazi and allies had concentration camps and bombed cities. Were they equally bad and the difference is down to morals?

Wasn't singling you out if that's what you're thinking. I was speaking in general. You don't have to choose one over the other.

You were quoting me, lol.
Again, nobody is choosing, I am just saying that saying "everyone is bad, there is nothing else to say "diminishes all discussion.
The two entities are not the same, and saying that they are both bad to not single out the worse behaviours of each is just a way to justify either behaviour.
Terrorism and apartheid and genocide are bad and different, and all must be condemned. Individually and distinctly.

You mean the war topic or the thread as a whole? Because there's been hostility over literally every subject. It's inevitable for political talk since so many got a personal attachment to their political views.
Just the whole Israel vs Palestine topic that's been having members go back and forth on which side is worse than the other.

This back and forth debate seems to be coming to a close though.

Edit: It wasn't the first time in history that one country made the decision to declare total destruction over the other in retaliation for an attack made on them. The Palestinian citizens getting caught in the crossfire (including the displacemnt of a whopping 1.9 million people) is a major tragedy, but it's the aftereffect of a retaliatory offensive assault from Israel and its soldiers that want blood against the people that wronged them.

Tensions still high between the two sides and it's pretty much a guarantee that a significant percentage of Israeli soldiers don't care much, if at all for the lives of Palestinians.

After all, from the POV of the Israelis, why should they lend sympathy towards the people of an enemy state/country/whatever when the Palestinians are the people that harbor grudges against them even though those Palestinian terrorists were the ones that made a preemptive attack first?
According to the United Nations, 1.9 million people were displaced in Gaza as of October 2024 out of a population of 2.2 million people. This report examines the Israeli authorities’ conduct which has led to this extraordinarily high level of displacement and finds these actions amount to forced displacement. Given the evidence strongly indicates that multiple acts of forced displacement were carried out with intent, it amounts to war crimes. The report further finds that the Israeli government’s acts of forced displacement are widespread and systematic. Statements by senior officials with command responsibility show that forced displacement is intentional and forms part of Israeli state policy and therefore amount to a crime against humanity. Israel’s actions appear to also meet the definition of ethnic cleansing.
The devastating consequences of large-scale war destroys the lives of innocents way more than the lives of the instigators and the soldiers actually fighting in the conflict.

Gaimon....my entire point was that people assume some kind of allegiance depending on who you critize at the time, basically a cry for better convos. The first post you quote literally stated that people accuse you of supporting terrorism(supporting rape and killing innocents) if you criticize Israel, or that you support genocide if you criticize Hamas. You can condemn both. One side may be worse than other, but that doesn't mean the other side is off the hook. Some think Hamas is worse, some Israel worse, whatever. Nothing about what I said is justifying any behavior, and saying such is proving my point. I don't get what you're trying to say anymore.

I was saying that saying "both are bad" is a bad thing to say in general.
I also agree with your topic, that's why I am not calling people affiliated with anything, I just call them retarded if they behaved like retards.
But I'll tone it down if the topic get threatened with closure.
It's a tender matter though, and as such it gets heated easily, specially if you/me/one believes that people are deliberately lying or obfuscating reality.

I do not understand how this is related to what I wrote in any way.
Maybe i misunderstood, but i was under the impression that your point was that one side is worse and therefore one cant make this comparison in the first place.

This sounds like you actually do agree that both are bad

Saying both are bad doesnt really say anything to the extent of how bad they are anyway.

It's so fucking funny to see people here point fingers at each other without understanding their arguments:suresure:

So let me get this straight

People who are saying "Hamas is terrorist organization who targets civilians and derail peace process" and Hamas needs to be taken care of while saying Palestinians have right to statehood and freedom which Israel can't take away from them....makes them "pawn" of Jews.

So, by that logic, can I say people who defends Hamas are " bitches" of terrorists?

:choppawhat:

One side being worse doesnt magically make the other side any less bad
Some pretend committing a crime justifies the opposing side to commit even worse crimes.
