Oda is preparing for that hard on nerf on Kaido, making him get "tired" because of carrying onigashima which begs the question, why the hell is Kaido carrying onigashima in the first place? Did Oda just create this plot line solely to eventually nerf Kaido? Whats next, Kaido is going to stab himself while fighting Luffy? Oh wait that already happened to nerf Katakuri LMFAO! Nothing in Wano is making any sense.

Honestly,i am more worried about the nerf BM is going to suffer!

I don't think Kaido flame clouds interfere with his haki consumption or anything,i think it will just nerf his DF "mana" pool!

Kaido wasn't planning on dropping Onigashima out of the sky, having it fall on the Flower Capital. He was planning on setting it down on the Flower Capital.

wont say biggest nerf cause he looks to be in better condition than doflamingo who had to struggle to keep his organs in place after gamma knife . doesnt seem like kaido's condition atm is that egregious .
his powers arent weaker cause he has been carrying some island
the "little nicks" the scabbards got in
the attacks from others like kid, law and killer and yamato
and apparently the " little scratch" from zoro
in addition to luffy's hits
are beginning to wear kaido down too
just as the guns , stabs wore wb down .
that dialogue was just getting people comfortable with the fact that this is ending in a 1v1 but ofc with an asterisk on it , where you can say yes luffy defeated kaido but he isnt definitively stronger. but undoubtedly it would be disingenuous to act like he's at deathsdoor or close to it , far from it. he just isnt in peak condition anymore i.e like doflamingo

Kaido isn't nerfing himself. He soundly beat the Scabbards before lifting the island, then fought the supernova alongside Big Mom in a favorable battle. They were able to take out Zoro, by far one of their strongest enemies, pretty early. Then Kaido managed to beat the other strongest, with enough strength left to handle Yamato and then some. He underestimated Luffy's incredible luck, but when you see a DF user hit the water unconscious that's a pretty easy mistake. He also never would have thought Zoro would just heal from that, which screws King (who had the third strongest, Marco, beat) and will later cost his own head.
