Character Discussion How much interest do you have in the Roger Pirates ?

A lot because I want to know what their actual intentions were. The PK title, Raftel, the Poneglyphs, none of it existed/was known about when they went to sea. So what drove Roger to the seas? Why did Rayleigh want to turn the world upside down with him? What did Scopper want?

Meh, not so much really.
At first, pre time skip, they were the legends and Roger the absolute top. You also had Ray appear during Sabaody and repelling an admiral despite his age and retirement. Also we get teased about them in Skypea, by Ray telling the SHs he knew already the whole story (void century, D. etc.). So pre time skip they were absolutely something to note.
Now we have the post time skip and their position as the absolute top dogs got slowly but surely erased. Garp was already contending with Roger and even more with his crew (read Ray and Gaban), then WB shadowed them all as Roger only equal. Then we got Xebec and the Rocks who seem even above the Roger pirates, Im and his gorosei not even Roger dared to fight, Joyboy himself (and crew), Garling and his family... Now the Roger pirates are much much smaller than before. And what they did doesn't seem so special as before as well. Also we get only some infos about Roger in the years, we know quite a bit more about Ray... And what is left is basically only Gaban.. and even if imo Oda could cook something cool with him like a cool double axe fighting style (maybe he could bully a bit Zoro with that to hyper even more what is left of a certain fandom), make him a bounty hunter or some other cool side stuff that got never really explained (relic hunters like the dudes in Skypea arc, even monster hunters potentially). But most likely we will get some lore bomb (I hope) maybe show he is very good at fighting but nothing more. And at this point nobody should care really much about him (bar Sanji fans of course).

I like them and seeing more of them individually in the present day is cool. Crcocus was great, Rayleigh is amazing and Gaban is shaping up to terrific. Along with Oden and Shanks, that's probably enough but we could also see more of the rest in flashbacks like of God Valley and just inter-crew relationships and dynamics.
