Is this Dragon Ball or One Piece? Character deaths actually mean something in the latter, there aren't magical wishes to bring people back lmao.
Actually a lot of deaths were unneccessary and plot-wise did not mean shit: Monet, Vergo, Ashura, Izo come to mind.
Pedro's death was ok on a dramatic level and it was kinda bound to happen since Big Mom had already sucked him many years of his life. However his sacrifice did not work the way he intended to, as Perospero was able to continue his chase. So Atlas sacrifice might aswell result in a failure (it probably won't tho, the arc looks pretty over).
One the other hand, there are many "would have been meaningful" deaths wasted: Pell, Pound, Kinnemon and counting.
Death is really bad managed in One Piece story, it would have been better with the Dragon Balls.
