The point of having Luffy in this raid, if he loses, is still significant - wearing Kaido down.
Doesnt matter that he cannot beat Kaido by himself, if others allow him to keep coming back, the mountain will be worn down by rain.
He will get the credit for taking down Kaido either way, if he does it himself or if Zoro does it for him.
There really isnt anything here for Luffy to achieve. He has already proven that he can keep Kaido busy, for some time.
He proves nothing here even if he wins this round, nobody will get a bright idea to say that he surpassed Kaido.
I really dont know what payoff Oda has thought of here but I dont see it.
You make it sound a lot better than it is...
There is no point in dancing with Kaido, it accomplishes nothing.
Kaido needs to die and only one man fits that job.
Anyway, I am interested specifically in how Luffy and Kaido would end if he either loses or wins.
I know a lot of people who walked themselves into a corner thinking that things are impossible...
Anti-Zolobros are a good example of people who think that Zoro doing X, Y or Z is impossible...
There are in-story, already revealed solutions for how Zoro can back to fighting in an even stronger state, far from impossible.
Doesnt mean he needs to do that to kill Kaido but again, we are going off towards ZKK instead of focusing on Luffy vs Kaido. I understand that many want Luffy to win this because he hasnt done anything meaningful in the 4 years long arc but Oda has hinted at things going different way a long time ago. It is pretty disappointing way for WSC to be simply worn down, even Meme went out with a bang.
