Everyone she grew up with was against her ideals (except Ace and those samurai when she was little, who were the only ones that were nice to her). It's hard to "properly" grow up in such difficult circumstances.

No one said that about Katakuri. The argument is that Katakuri was changed up significantly. That's different from him being created last minute.
