He went hybrid because of Zoro cutting his scales when he tried to eat Luffy. Zoro shocked Kaido way more when Big Mom screamed him to dodge, blocking Hakai, winning the trade on Asura, and leaving a scar on him.

He went Hydird at the end of a chapter and after Luffy attacked him.

About the scabbards, he said there they were not even able to reopen his old wound and other a samurai like Oden was unique.

And he didn't seemed forced to hybrid. He was just good as Dragon and Human. Maybe 1010 Zoro and Luffy could've forced him into it but not before that.

Last Clash Just proved Kaido strongest technique was in that form.

However, Kaido went in hybrid after the normal dragon form and damaged Nika using hybrid. His strongest attacks were in hybrid.

Yeah its hybrid kaido>dragon kaido>base kaido. but dragon form is needed for its versatility in twister attack and flame control.

I can understand the idea about the final technique, but overall is plenty clear hybrid > dragon form

Probably since he seems to be unable to use flame attacks with it. King is tricky because we still have so many doubts about him although having some about Kaido too.

Maybe Kaido can coat his hybrid with lava too? But he chooses Dragon because of size that hybrid wouldn't be able to compete with Bajrang Gun. So again Dragon stronger.

We are not sure about why King stopped using his DF and why he had flames off and if Zoro could harm him either flames on or not.
