He says, "there haven't been many images of Shanks drawing his sword and fighting." Still implies that he fights with his sword.
Even Mihawk won't fight as simply as coating his sword with haki and swinging it around. Zoro himself doesn't do that, considering he creates visions of demon gods (such as Ashura), replicates doping (Ichi/Ni Gorilla) and a bunch of other stuff.
In essence, not knowing how Shanks really fights =/= Shanks has a strange/hidden fighting style besides swordsmanship.

I posted facts. Oda is the one who called them swordsman. That's means they are swordsman. You can't decide someone is not a swordsman just because you don't want them to be one.

I hope Oda goes all out with Shanks. Fighting style, backstory, contribution to the arcs he's in, everything. The flaming sword seemed cool but if Oda didn't come up with it, he shouldn't restrict himself to that technique (though including it in the manga would be nice) and do what he feels fits the character and story.
