But it doesn't really change anything, since we all know he'll eventually surpass her, it just leaves more room for speculation about sanji's future strength and power ups
Nah...there won't be any more powerups... I think the SHs will just become strong with just the current strength... I mean don't see what powerup to even have...it would be hard for oda to think of one especially for sanji.
This is purely opinion based but I think Sanjis decision to go to WCI made me second guess his will power. He was broken to easily he left the crew in a time of need.
Jinbei literally went to Big Mom at the worst possible time and told her he was leaving to join the SH who were raiding her island in her face. With his entire country on the line. He had more at stake than Sanji yet had more faith in Luffy than Sanji did. His will wasn’t broken at any point.
He didn't give up and chose an easy option, he did the exact opposite
Instead of choosing the easy way and rely on luffy he decided that he was not worth the risk, he had faith in luffy
He went to confront his childhood traumas and give up on his freedom for luffy and zeff to be safe
He faked being a crual person and pretty much insulted zeff and his mother by calling himself a vinsmoke
He then had to beat up luffy, the same person he was willing to die for
During wci he was never scared of big mom, the moment he saved reiju pretty much sums up why you're wrong
He told luffy to not go save her and did it himself because he wants to be the only person at risk while others are safe
Also, jinbei had a whole plan, 2 pirates of the worst generation and an entire army by his side
What did sanji have? He thought it was only him, luffy and nami vs big mom's crew, the only smart option was to sacrifice himself and not endanger the rest
If anything jimbei left at the best possible moment, you know, right before big mom's assassination plan

Sanji didn't abandon the crew at a time of need, he left to save the crew and chose the worst possible option for himself and he wasn't broken the slightest
Even zoro agreed with his decision to leave the crew to not endanger the alliance

It's not complicated, you can also make a case for big mom being the strongest character in the series due to her ability to sacrifice her life span to get stronger and abord the life span of others but we all know where she stands
Sanji is one of the most focused on character that was stated to be one of the two wings of the pirate king
Narrative is more relevant than headcanon
And sanji has a few ways to get as strong as the plot requires his character to be, aka stronger than Yamato

This will never happen, no new nakama got more focus than the East Blue members. She'd be lucky to compete with Usopp if she joins which is far from being sure
People need to accept that the power structure of the SH crew will be Luffy, then Zoro/Sanji, and then everyone else. This will not change. Jinbe joined the crew and it did not change anything. If Yamato joins, this dynamic of the crew will not change. Marco called Sanji and Zoro the stars of the crew. Robin classified them as Luffy's wings.

Having this technique does not automatically make you stronger than someone. This misconception needs to go away. Black Maria has haki but still lost to Robin who is not even a confirmed haki user. The only advantage Yamato has on Sanji is that she is a woman.

--Yamato > Current sanji is a fact ; sanji in future can surpass yamato no doubt that is a diff thing
--Still yamato is obvi the oden of straw hat pirates so she may have a unique position in the crew ; pre skip one piece has no power structure but post skip has with haki and so on
