Character Discussion Imu being a non-fighter is profoundly illogical

Having an ancient weapon is a bit meh. Specially from what I've seen. And how would you propose the fight against him if his main source of power is an external source as such.

Story wise it seems to indicate he's fighting Luffy. From this alone it shows he's ultimate level fighter.

I believe imu has a fruit like Luffy's. Different types all in 1. Wasn't there a theory about a sea devil...
Imu is not built up, nor portrayed as some Ultimate fighter, as he/she lurks from the shadows, being protected by secrecy, and all sorts of high caliber people (Admirals/CP0/Holy Knights). If Imu had the power to rule by their own strength, they would not hide themselves from the World. Imu shouldn't care if anyone knows of his/her existence, as they would not be worried about anyone trying to come for them. The fact that he/she hides themselves from the World, means they are worried their position would be threatened if people knew he/she existed.

Blackbeard is the one who is portrayed as the Ultimate fighter. Just having one OP devil fruit is enough to catapult someone into the Top Tier range, and this man has two of the most OP devil fruits in existence. One of which was previously used by one of the Strongest individuals to ever live. He has broken the mold and defied what was even thought to be possible. There is also the prospect of him gaining or already having a third Devil Fruit. He's going to be ridiculously broken come EoS, and I'm not sure how people don't see this.

There’s still an argument of Imu’s power just being him controlling an ancient weapon while being immortal w the largest fighting force on the planet, that in itself would be enough and it’s not required that Im be a fighter. But I’m on the side that believes he’s an almighty powerful fighter as well because Luffy didn’t obtain these godly powers just to take down volcano man, no one else would be a suitable final fight unless Imu has a joyboy clone downstairs in the freezer.

look at the silhouette

the most optimistic option is that its a women with all the hair tucked in the crown, so she could at least look normal from the neck above, but still a skinny midget

or the more likely option thats its just a goofy looking midget dude

cant fight either way, he/she is a shirahoshi counterpart that can control an ancient weapon, and its heavily implied that its possible to steal that power from him/her as well

In One Piece, powerful characters are either powerful themselves or derive power from some other source.

Let me give you an example. Characters like Luffy and Kaido are actually strong and derive power from themselves. Characters like Buggy, Orochi, and Charloss derive power from others.
  • Buggy derives his power from Mihawk and Crocodile
  • Orochi derives his power from Kaido
  • Charloss derives his power from the admirals
In the case of Imu, it just makes zero sense for Imu to derive their power from other people. Because almost nobody knows that Imu exists.

Imu is a myth even to the guards of Pangea castle, meaning that his existence is only known by a handful of people. Yet Imu is the most powerful character in One Piece. They are literally the puppet master of the world government.

Imu cannot derive power from the admirals, the gorosei, or anybody else, because Imu controls all of these people. Regarding the admirals specifically, Imu controls them without them even knowing that they are being controlled.

Characters that derive power from other characters usually don't do this. Buggy doesn't control Mihawk, Orochi didn't control Kaido. They just had power because they were leeching off those who were truly powerful.

There is only one thing that can realistically make Imu the shadow ruler of the entire world. And that would be, if Imu was the strongest character in one piece history. In all likelyhood, this is the case.
Imu is probably strong since Sabo apparently saw her in the throne room and didn’t kill her when she was surrounded by nothing but a dead Cobra and a bunch of old guys

That aside your logic here is pretty bad since there are a lot of characters in positions of authority who aren’t physically strong. Momo isn’t stronger than Yamato or Kinemon, but he’s still the shogun. Riku isn’t stronger than Kyros. Spandam isn’t stronger than Lucci.

Blackbeard has the main villain and final boss trope - breaking estsblished rules of the powers set in certain verse. Blackbeard is the only one character to have achieved that feat, there's no other character with a second devil fruit, and is on Imu's shitlist with Luffy (both being D) an ancient weapon and Vivi all with ties to ancient past.

We do not know why they hide.

If Imu is not above admirals and Yonkous, then why does the Gorosei give him their loyalty? How did Imu find themselves in the position to be granted the inmortal surgery? Why would someone do this for him? Why would Garp and roger go as far as protecting Tenryuubito? If not because a bigger threat might as well just wipe everything out...

I understand your point. If Imu was such a powerful being, why not govern the world publicly? Well, we do not know why. Just like we do not know why the WG itself had an obsession with this balance of power when it's more and more clear that they are superior as an organization to regular era of Piracy. I read around some comment about Imu maybe gaining some type of energy out of people's apparent free will, like big Mom can gain pieces of souls... there was a theory that Gorosei were saviors of humanity and protect the world from Imu... while Imu is getting something. None knows what.

Imu being a fighter makes logical sense out of universe when you consider that many shonens have the trope of the final boss virtually coming from nowhere, or being an unassuming figure. I'm certain that Imu will be the last villain that'll be throwing hands (or lasers) at Luffy.
