Controversial "Imu using a sword to kill Luffy isn't Hawk Eye upscale"

Nah you just can't read, no one said anything about "real" or "fake" swordsmen

For some reason people can't understand the concept of a character being a swordsmen and other things as well, what a novel idea for the One Piece fandom
That is literally the basis of Erkan arguments against WSS title bro. "X isn't just a swordsman so they aren't definitively bound to be under Mihawk's title and weaker than him, instead they can be stronger because other areas.".

It really sinks the weight of Mihawk's strongest title if it isn't actually about overall strength.

Because the definition of swordsman is someone who uses / is skilled with a sword

They are skilled with swords, so they're swordsmen

Just basic definitions
Not in One Piece.. Using a Sword doesn't make you a Swordsman in One Piece..

Law is a Swordsman..
Fujitora is not a Swordsman, he's a Sword user..

Fujitora uses his Sword mostly as a magic wand..
Law uses his Sword as an actual Sword with magic powers.. He apply his powers to his Sword skills.. Fujitora apply his Sword skills to his powers..

Fujitora's Sword is an extension of his Gravity powers..
Law's Ope Ope powers are an extension of his Sword..

Imu falls in Fujitora's category.. Boofuu is an extension of Imu's powers..

Well yeah, they're obviously swordsmen

But if Fujitora beat Mihawk by dropping a meteor on his head then Fujitora wouldn't be stronger as a swordsman which is what matters

Alternatively, if Fujitora beat Mihawk with an aCoC sword move, then Fujitora would be stronger as a swordsman

As Zoro said to King, "at least let me die by the sword"

And as King said to Zoro "I love a good sword duel" proceeding to fight Zoro primarily with his sword and haki
You're really not beating the Erkanite allegations with this post. :risitameh:

Nah, the difference between me and him is I say that Mihawk can beat EVERYONE in a sword duel according to whatever arbitary rules Oda has for a sword duel in One Piece, even IMU. And I also say that a duel involves any sort of haki whereas he thinks it's just a "pure swordsmanship" contest. We are very distinct.

At the bare minimum, we know any sword style and any form of haki is included, even things like future sight should be allowed. But on the other hand there HAS TO BE a cut off point, you can't just win with any Paramecia power and be considered a stronger swordsman.

And I also say that Mihawk being the strongest in a sword duel means he can beat almost everyone in the verse, it doesn't really matter if say you can't say Mihawk is stronger than Linlin based on his title alone because Linlin isn't JUST a swordsman, him being that strong with haki and his sword would be enough.

For the longest time it seemed arbitrary as a fan discussing with other fans, but this point at least is simple: these guys use swords when they're means to an end, but they're all like King

In the face of someone better with a sword, they'll go along with whatever else they have. Imu's sword is undeniably sufficient to ruin Luffy, while no one would expect Imu to beat Mihawk without resorting to some other power.

It's a Pirate story so Swords and Guns are bound to be at the forefront for battle.. Even more so with Swords, it's the emblem of piracy fiction.. So what do you expect.. Oda is differencing between Sword users and Swordsmen..

Stigma is enough for Mihawk..

Aside from Gunko, when is the last time you saw a gun or cannon used effectively? They're fodder weapons

They're mostly used execution style like Doflamingo and the Gorosei..

But Izo, and it's a matter of time for when Beckman will introduce '' Famed Guns ''..
Izo isn't what I meant by fodder but being one of the only characters to die, funny enough...

Beckman is a chapter 1 character and in 1200 chapters will only have swinging it like a bat to his name. You can say that this or that named character "has a gun" but to make a point about the parallel with real life, nah.

Having trouble isn't necessarily a vulnerability. Luffy's affected by blunt attacks with Haki but Imu, obviously the hardest hitter he's faced, couldn't really hurt him with a massive punch. Gear 5 turned Kaido's Kanabo hit, the Gorosei attacks etc. into gags.

Sure Garp is technically not any more immune to swords, but that's not relevant.
Or perhaps imu has a sword with special properties considering everything weve seen from it so far?
