My guess is:

- Kaido either wrecks CP-0 guy or he escapes
- Kaido gets his flashback (1-3 chapters)
- Luffy gets up by sheer willpower
- Said willpower causes Luffy's next attacks to be "different" than what came before. He throws out a punch and it's just his most basic form of awakening. It absolutely hurts Kaido.
- Ensue rest of fight for several chapters.

There's only 3 chapters left of Volume 103. I assume by the end of it we see this happen (1045). Volume 104 will be finishing off all main events and the chapters dedicated to their intense end fight.

Luffy is staying up by sheer willpower just like he did against Lucci and I can see him being deaths bed allowing him to partially or as you said use the first stages of his DF's awakening.

Obviously not... But he won't be able to fight for a few minutes (like in Dressrosa)...

Here's what I think will happen:
  • Kaido is dead mad and will try to kill CP0 boss
  • Luffy can't fight, Kaido is buying time for Luffy to recover so that they can continue their battle
  • CP0 boss is defeated, SHs + Yamato arrives
  • Luffy unable to fight, Zoro, Sanji and CP0 boss unconscious, the rest vs. Kaido just to buy time
  • Sanji and CP0 boss regains consciousness, they will fight
  • CP0 boss defeated for good, SHs very exhausted, Kaido's energy low
  • Luffy regains recovers, Luffy vs. Kaido final round
  • Luffy beats Kaido, Zoro regains consciousness and ZKK, Luffy and Zoro lose consciousness

Yeah KO but for how long ?

Luffy was KO with that move :

But he was up two chapters after

So being KO can mean definitively KO or KO just for a short time
That has nothing to do with anything, though. In this current context Luffy is done.
Because maybe you don’t pay enough attention to story trends and patterns. A lot of people here predicted Luffy losing again
Did you?

Big Mom
King
Queen
Jack
Perospero
Flying six

All have been defeated he just wants to find an excuse to drag this shit longer

This whole arc is a fall other Mangas I read have way more action they are more lively

Luffy can be out for good without the raid failing. Nice to see Morj might get the consequences he wanted though.

Luffy will surpass Oden.
All of you guys are just assuming Luffy is defeated after this blow which I am pretty much certain he isn't because basically the story requires him to be still able to fight.
Next chapter we will probably get CP0 Boss death by Kaido and the Yonkou's flashback, after that Kaido and we will realize Luffy is not done and has probably awakened his fruit.
Post automatically merged:

He is NOT defeated.
It would really rub me the wrong way if Luffy's able to get up after this while Oden wasn't. The damaji taken seems to be roughly the same so Luffy being able to get up due to determination(?) just feels lazy and insulting to Oden's character. Bro had to defeat Kaido or his whole country would be taken over, yet Luffy can get a 15th wind while Oden got 1-shot. Whether the story can continue without Luffy fighting is up to Oda's skills as a writer, he hasn't backed himself into a corner completely.

Luffy is definitely getting back up but how long until he does? Maybe someone is. COming to stall kaido again &. No greater person than sanji  he hasn't been shown for awhile now, my head cannon tells me sanji will one shot cpo then proceed to stall kaido

If Luffy gets up next chapter it would be out of logic even for One piece standard.

We saw in the chapter that Roaring TB almost KO Luffy out of G4 again, it is Luffy sheer willpower that restraint himself from passing out from G4.
He was at his limit already, only driven by willpower to prolong his G4 for final attack

On last panel, Luffy got a pure clean shot on his face from roaring TB again, and this look even more brutal and clean shot compared to the split spitz from roaring TB few page before.

Logicall Luffy should be down for a good, even if he isn't temporarily down, his G4 will run out already.

Only Awakening could pull it off. But I'd doubt Oda will show that fast.

There's still quite few side plot that are still ongoing
Zunisha, Momo, Orochi, Hiyori, Cp0, Kaido Flashbacks etc
Unless all these side plot are completed, Kaido isn't going down.

So yes Luffy should be out right now,
Maybe it's upto the rest of the alliance downstairs together should stall Kaido until Luffy comback with awakenings.

Oden lost to a no name attack from a Kaido that according to the manga was significantly weaker than now and was just in base form.
Luffy is stronger and the simbolic representation of that will be that he endures the attack and beats Kaido while Oden couldn't. I mean Oden himself believed someone would come in 20 years to beat Kaido.

Yeah I think he's done for now. Luffy will still defeat Kaido one on one, but it won't happen on the roof. I can see the alliance retreating for now and coming back to save Wano later after Onigashima crashes into the capital. At least I hope that's what happens.
