Among the myriad of Plots in Wano, there's this one, Zoro cutting fire.
In case you've forgotten, this first comes up in Punk Hazard when Kin'emon first demonstrates the cutting fire technique and Zoro shows interest. Then at the end of the arc Zoro actually says he wants to learn how to do it.
Now we're knee deep in the arc And it's a bit unclear whether this is a plot point still being followed up on or not. Granted Oda could go the way of OFF SCREEN and say Zoro picked up on this during the time he was on Zou training Momo and the only reason we haven't seen this is because Zoro hasn't been in a situation where he needs to cut fire yet. This is possible but I feel it would be somewhat disappointing since Oda surprisingly has actually been getting into the nitty gritty of how certain powers work in this arc with the whole Advanced armament Haki and the breath of all things therefore it would be a missed opportunity not to show Zoro training in real time for this cutting fire technique in case it has to do with the Haki and such we are learning about now.
Basically what I'm getting at is that the arc is set up pretty well to explain all the weird swordmanship shenanigans that have been going on with Zoro from the breath of all things to the cursed swords to the black blades to maybe even Ashura and to maybe even Zoro producing flames that one time. Like with all this sword stuff on the horizon, it seems to be the best time for Zoro to learn a new sword technique and not have it be something he learned in a flashback off screen. Though maybe it's as I said before and Oda just wants this plot point to come back when the opportunity immediately requires it for dramatic effect. That is, when Zoro specfically needs to cut fire is when he'll like ask Kin'emon to teach him or just pull it off himself having seen Kin'emon do it a few times already.
And here's where Kaido and king come in since they are the fire users of the enemy side (Prometheus being MIA). This means Zoro has to fight these guys if the point of Zoro not bringing this up by now was for dramatic effect. Kaido's boro breath though might not be fire and it's the anime taking liberties but King is literally the Wildfire and of course he's the Right hand man swordsman of the enemy side so...
Anyway, I can say there's still things the working sort of supporting this plot point coming back up this arc so it might not just be an abandoned sub plot
