I don't think there is anything wrong with Zoro or Luffy crying after a defeat. What's important is they both managed to move forward despite their defeats. Usually, Luffy doesn't take defeats as seriously as Zoro though—he doesn't give a flying fuck about getting embarrassed in a fight. Zoro, on the other hand, takes it very seriously so it makes sense that he'd feel bad about it.

I can see that

but it took a lot more to break Luffy than it did to break zoro, which proves my point

Luffy deserves to be captain because his will surpasses even zoro
Not getting into who deserves to be captain or Luffy vs Zoro.

Zoro also recovered his resolve faster and by himself - when he told Mihawk that Death is better than Defeat and when he made that promise to never lose again. While Luffy needed Jinbe to beat that into him.

It’s incomparable

zoro wanted to die over simply being defeated

for Luffy it wasn’t just defeat, it was his brother’s death
Luffy isn't the only one to have lost someone close Zoro lost kuina his best friend and rival that was just as important to him as Ace was for Luffy at much younger age too. How did Zoro react to that

While Luffy was totally broken after the death of Ace throwing away his dream and everything now tell me who has stronger willpower

Luffy had his brother killed in his arms.

Zoro lost a fight.

These things are not the same.

Luffy broke down because he failed to save his brother's life against a half a dozen Top Tiers, due to his lack of strength.

Zoro broke down because he failed to beat a single man in a fight due to his lack of strength.

Luffy didn't give a shit about losing a fight. He gave a shit about losing a brother.

Not to mention, Kuina's death had absolutely nothing to do with Zoro's lack of strength.

Ya'll for real with these comparisons?

Zoro has never broken down before anyone not named Mihawk he has been defeated plenty of times in the series
It's only against Mihawk at the start of the series Zoro cried because it's far more than just a fight his dream the promise he made to Kuina means everything for Zoro don't oversimply to to just battle of strength. We would see Zoro cry against other opponents he lost to if this was something as shallow as you are making it out to be. Kuina was just as important to Zoro doesn't matter how she died losing someone like that who was your best friend and rival is every bit as traumatic.

I'm not really gonna argue about this but I'd just like to note the fact that Luffy broke into Impel down (an impenetrable prison) and then fought in the paramount war (surrounded by people a thousand times stronger than he was) just for his brother to get struck down.
It's pretty obvious that he would feel a lot of grief as he put so much effort into saving ace.

That being said, why is this even an argument. I don't think it really matters who cries after losing.

W-who cares about context, zoro cried. B-but you better not forget that luffy lost his brother so it doesn't count, you hear me swordbois!!!1!

I'm mostly responding to @Monkey D Theories who was mocking Zoro calling him a bitch for crying against Mihawk.

So losing your second brother after you have put a hell lot of effort to save him shouldn't break you down but crying and giving up your life just because you lost one fight is good, are we really on the same page? For real?

Tell me one fight where Luffy decide to gave up his life upon losing that fight? Luffy simply overcome any lose but to losing a person he loves the most can be heartbreaking than just losing a simple fight and I can't believe people actually comparing these two things.

Zoro can train and eventually win against Mihawk to overcome that loss yet he cries. but Luffy he can't go back and save Ace, it's all over for him.
