There is no reason kidd can defeat Shanks
Law and Kidd are just promotional tools for Shanks and bb, which will probably increase their bounty to over 5 billion

do you think Oda is going to kill Kid when he couldn't even kill Pound? The giants will probably save Kid because he beat BM.

Anyways given how Luffy will be fighting Teach in the next arc, this means that either Shanks is the final obstacle for Luffy or someone else beats him.
If the latter possibility is true, that other person should be Kid.

I'm not too sure who Luffy is fighting...The fight with the Five Elders also looks interesting, and Oda can replace the Five Elders with people like Mihawk or Shanks...Both of them can be from the same noble family
They also have to save someone who wants to kill their friend Shanks, which doesn't make sense
Also, bb cannot engage with Garp, Law, and Shanks at the same time and fight Luffy without damage...Shanks promised Buggy to go to Laugh Tale, even if he could join Cross Guild and fight Shanks, Luffy, Zoro and Mihawk there...All these are more likely to happen

Makes zero sense for kidd to lose now. He already lost an arm to the red haired pirates and he didn't meet shanks at that time. Now he meets shanks and is going to lose again? I see people even saying hes going to get one shot by shanks or somehow hes still weaker than beckman? Kidd is supposed to become one of the leaders of the new generation, if anything the two most likely outcomes are a stallmate or kidd winning. People keep saying, "oh kidd is gunna be a hypetool for shanks and deliver the poneglyphs to him", In what scenario would this be a hypetool, where shanks has fleet, giants and entire crew? Oda is purposely misleading us. Kidd cannot lose here.
Doubt it but if Oda wants to make a statement and raise the stakes for a potential SHs v Red Hair Pirates clash for example then yh he could die. Kidd doesn't have the same plot armor he had on Wano atm. Regardless tho, even if he does survive, he's not gonna be in state to be able to challenge Shanks again if he does lose. Again Killer's words not mine. Moreover what would be the point of Kidd challenging Shanks again? It's not really gonna add anything to the plot. It's now or never for Kidd imo.
